Pork and sauerkraut is a northeast tradition.

After the pork and sauerkraut dinner as a pre-teen, I went next door to hang out and watch football and the italian mother, insisted that i have a couple of strands of sauerkraut for "good luck".

At house, we often had Polish Kielbasa with sauerkraut and mustard on a hot dog bun. Side order of french fries. The drinks?
Either Vernor’s Ginger Ale or Canada Dry were preferred.

My German born wife claims that Germans don’t need an excuse to eat pork and sauerkraut. BTW, she mixes her sauerkraut with mashed potatos and pork gravy.

“We?” Not me. There are many such customs; black-eyed peas and rice, bangers and mash, mincemeat pie and rice and others. For me a nice roasted turkey or chicken—but pork sausage? Never touch the stuff, but love sauerkraut.

Give me pizza. There is pork, and you can pretend the cheese is sauerkraut.

I’m of Irish descent, but I’d take the pizza as well.

We’re good for drinking, fighting, and {blank}ing.

Our cuisine isn’t our strong suit.
