I'd like to know this as the soccer tournament starts this Sunday in Qatar.
It has been controversial to say the least ever since Qatar was awarded it.
From using "migrant workers" to build the stadiums and reportedly working them to death to their poor human rights record will US networks fully embrace it?
I notice the US team will use a rainbow logo "in support of the LGBTQ community".
Interesting they feel the need to do that.
Boring ass gridiron with 45 minutes of timeouts and commercials for 15 minutes of play will thankfully never catch on outside of the US and western Canada.
I guess Qatar has turned ‘diversity’ and ‘equity’ to their advantage. In fact, to have truly diverse views, we would need people who believe other than the politically correct, woke, wack way, and embrace people who do not embrace the woke-wackiness. People who do not accept, or do not follow, the LGBTQWERTY lifestyle, and fight to keep it away. If everyone accepts everything, there is no national or regional identity that one can discern. Anyone could claim to be from anywhere. Qatarans just trying to maintain their uniqueness. (okay, I need to stop trying to think like a leftist, thanks for listening).
I stopped paying attention to the World Cup after that idiot Megan Rapinoe shot her ugly little mouth off.
Well the US used to abort millions of babies ever year for generations. What is worse?
While a good chunk of the world goes mad for soccer only teams from Europe and South America have been champions. England has only won it once on home turf. I expect this to continue for some time to come in the future.
The last world cup was in Russia, I don’t recall too many articles about Putin executing political opponents and if you watched the World Cup, you were supporting Putin’s alleged crimes ... this is the same, lots of people will watch the soccer games and never give a second thought to what sort of place Qatar is etc. The LGBT-whatever community are the main source of this last minute campaign against Qatar because all their demands have not been met. Right there is a good reason to say go Qatar. Tempest in a teapot.
Yet the left always screams “cultural imperialism!” when Christian missionaries preach the Word in foreign countries.
If the left was honest, this would be condemned as the worst form of cultural imperialism.
Soccer is g@¥ anyway.
The BRAVE US Men’s Soccer team will only be wearing their cute little rainbow emblem shirts in private practice sessions and not in games where it can be seen. So much for making this “important statement”.
