Biden May Choose Salmon Above Americans Which Will Jeopardize Power Supplies in the Pacific Northwest
Gateway Pundit ^

Posted on 07/14/2022 5:54:43 AM PDT by Tench_Coxe

The Biden administration continues its ridiculous push for climate change reform, this time choosing salmon over you and still reducing green energy output.

This week the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) recommended breaching dams on the Snake River to ensure the survival of endangered salmon.

The move would most likely jeopardize power supplies in the Pacific Northwest and worsen the supply chain crisis.

Maybe someone could ask Jennifer Granholm and Pete Buttigieg how this squares with forcing people into EVs.

Nevermind, they don't give a s**t.

salmon are not endangered...

We put east coast Salmon into the Pacific almost 200 years ago...from breeding facilities here on the east coast. Those facilities still exist today.

The object was...everyone can afford fish.

Trump or whoever takes over for biden needs to become the “Lawnmower Man”, and cut down all the weeds in Washington D.C.

I like the idea of setting Jack Reacher lose on DC to take out the trash. He would never get through but I think he and I both would enjoy the show.

The dam supplies hydroelectric generation, flood control, water supply and a navigable waterway to transport agricultural products to market. All lost in pursuit of a minor improvement to salmon. Stupid on steroids. Mike Simpson (my rep) has been pushing for this. I voted for his opponent in the primary, but he is just too entrenched.

Do we need any more proof this “crisis” is planned?

The irony is that the new fish ladder technology works very well and it can be employed at every dam on the river to make sure that they can spawn.

In other words, there is a solution that does not involve demolishing the dams and cutting electrical output, but they still want to destroy the dams.

They already fail to capture enough of the water and cry about drought being caused by SUV’s.

Insane.

Don’t they have salmon runs at these dams, or am I mistaken?

I would rather it be Mitch Rapp.

"Prove the earth is warming and CO2 is the cause."

Your appropriate question brings to mind why methane and CO2 gases, demonized by politically correct global warming alarmists imo, fail to hold the heat down during a midday solar eclipse on an otherwise sunny day, eclipses known to quickly and temporarily drop temperature by double-digits in some places.

Solar eclipse 2017: How much did the temperature change during the eclipse? (non-FR; 8.22.17)

Also, unsurprisingly, the nightime temperature in otherwise seasonally warm places typically keeps dropping until a little after sunrise, correction welcome.

“Bucket biologists” have been the bane of Pacific salmon runs. The introduction (from the eastern seaboard) of striped bass into San Francisco Bay was damaging up and down the Pacific coast. The introduction of many Ohio River species...smallmouth and largemouth bass, most sunfishes...has further decreased their numbers.

You mean to tell me there are no Engineers left in this country that could figure out a way and design a way for them to get over the dam? Oh I forgot. Instead of Universities teaching STEM these days they teach using the proper pronouns, rights of transgenders and gays and why the US is systemically racist.
