We put east coast Salmon into the Pacific almost 200 years ago...from breeding facilities here on the east coast. Those facilities still exist today.

Atlantic Salmon are a very different species than the Pacific salmons.
“Bucket biologists” have been the bane of Pacific salmon runs. The introduction (from the eastern seaboard) of striped bass into San Francisco Bay was damaging up and down the Pacific coast. The introduction of many Ohio River species...smallmouth and largemouth bass, most sunfishes...has further decreased their numbers.
Uh, you have a source for that? I have yet to see an Atlantic Salmon caught in the Pacific. Liken it to clawed Maine lobster, they don’t exist in the Pacific
