I suggest you look for for a ping list on the articles you read that you find interesting, and ask to be included. There are just so many.

This seems to be a good place to ask a ‘stupid’ question that I’ve wondered about...

Is there a way, inside a long thread, to gather ALL the FRs that replied, for purposes of future pings?

Obviously, this is feasible for a small thread manually.

Are there ping lists that are created this way?

If there is no FR website method to do this (what does reply to ‘ALL’ do, if anything?), is there a method outside of FR (say, thru excel/word/etc)?

I’m not sure I understand, but in my experience, if you run a ‘ping-list’ people tend to dislike being on it if they haven’t requested to be.

(And I’ve never found replying ‘all’ to do anything.)

Please don't do that. Some FReepers have scraped my name from replies to one of their posts, then ping me (and everyone else on their list) every time they post something new.

I politely ask to be removed from the ping list.

If I don't ask to be on another person's ping list, I don't want to be on the ping list.

A great aspect to FR is being able to ask sometimes dumb questions, especially when one (ie, me) is not considering all the ramifications, and get more sides of it.

If I find out how to do this, I WON’T be doing it!

By all means, advertise on a thread that you're starting a ping list on a certain topic, and ask for anybody interested to join.

I'm a member of several ping lists, but they're ping lists that I want to be a part of.

If the subject of your ping list interests me enough, then I'd be happy to ask to join!

PS: I don’t know of a single Freeper who keeps a ping list who won’t remove you name if you request.
