I’m on the Banglist ping list that is for second-amendment related threads, the F1 ping list that discusses Formula 1 racing, and a couple of “asking for prayers” ping lists that my addled mind can’t think of at the moment.
Oh, and I’m on a ping list that Red Badger maintains for automotive-related subjects. How could I forget him?!?

People who run a ping list have a list of people to ping. It’s a list of FR user names separated by semicolons and they build the list over time or inheret it from another FReeper who they took over the threads for as I did with the prepper ping list from Cottonball who took it over from someone else.

Our Wisconsin Politics Ping List kind of fell apart. I think someone else took it over for me (I didn’t really know it was a ‘thing.’ I just pinged the Usual Subjects from time to time if something big was happening, which I still do.
I maintain two lists, so don’t have time for more:
Weekly Garden Thread Ping List and the Fiber Arts Ping List (Monthly).
