Available in original Russian with English subtitles. Filmed in Kiev/Kyiv. So far, it's entertaining. Certainly topical. Life imitates art.

You do know most Ukrainians speak Russian as a first language.

It’s like the Irish. Most speak English, not Gaelic as their first language. The Ukrainian Language is like Gaelic.

He was an actor and comedian, and got a big break from a production company that wrote the script in Russian. His first language is Russian, though he speaks Ukrainian well enough that he was elected, and also speaks English with an accent and some hesitation. Honestly, I can’t tell the difference between Russian and Ukrainian, except in the music. The former is usually starts slow and ends in a lively crescendo, and the latter is consistently melancholy and meditative.

If he were a “Putin stooge,” he would have surrendered on Day One. A genuine Putin Stooge was elected in 2013, and when he tried to sell the country out to Putin, there was a revolution and he fled the country—to Moscow.

My teacher and mentor in the Scribal Arts is from Romania, and he speaks Russian and not a word of Yiddish. I don’t know if he speaks Romanian, since I never heard him. We communicate in Hebrew, though he can speak English in a pinch. Seems that Russian is to the former Soviet Empire as Latin was to the Roman, and English is to the former British Empire. Everyone speaks it.

Probably until the Russian-Speaking Ukrainians started moving to Poland en masse, you wouldn’t dare speak Russian in Poland.

Yes, I am pointing out the obvious cultural, historical and linguistic connections which most here seem to ignore.

So you don't like American things and they aren't good enough for you.

It becomes clearer why you got kicked out of America.

There is a strain of pan-Slavism that points to Russia as protector of the Slavs, and Ukraine as the definition of treachery. Oh, that is rich. Ukrainians are the traitors while Russians are protecting Slavs? Russians are now spiritual protectors? Hilarious.

It was the Russians that cheered this massive mess called Communism in the first place. They cheered as a small group of atheists and secular Jews took over the government by force. HOO-RAY go ahead and take our guns, religion, political system and free press. HERE COMES A WORKERS PARADISE.

The Communists not only sought to eliminate Slavic identity but wanted to eliminate non-Russian languages until WW2 forced them to back off in order to encourage nationalism for the sake of morale. It was also the Communists that executed Orthodox and Catholic priests but let the *stans have Islam cause that’s difference. Just as with our modern left they gave Islam a pass because the whole thing is really just anti-White/anti-Christian league of bitter losers at the core.

Oh but now the Russians are good guys. Right. Just ask any moms that have children buried in the hospital that was shelled.

Russians are LOSERS and Putin is their loser in charge. They allowed 1917 to happen because they couldn’t compete with Western Europe and said screw it let’s just let this ragtag bunch of Bolsheviks take over.

The Bolsheviks tried the same thing in Germany after WW1 and they were gunned down. One of their key leaders was tossed in a bay after being headshot. That is how you deal with Communists.

Don’t tell it to the Ukrainians. They ‘ll tell it is the opposite even though they are going to switch to Russian after coming back home.

That’s rich, given that the Ukrainian was the head of the USSR most of the time. Khruschev, Brezhnev, Chernenko, even Gorbachev was half-Ukrainian.

“points to Russia as protector of the Slavs”

Yeah, because they ended the Ottoman Empire’s harvest of the steppes.
Credit where credit is due.

Stalin said to a journalist just after the WW2 Tehran conference that it was high time the Slavs dominated Europe for a change.

Paid for by Ukrainian oligarch Igor Kolomoisky, owner of Burisma and Hunter Biden’s benefactor, who has helped make Zelensky a billionaire.

Yeah? And Hitler had mischlingen among his High Command, so maybe Jews were responsible for the Holocaust. Cut me a break. Every nation has its Benedict Arnolds. Doesn't make those nations illegitimate. Heck, the Emperor of China was a Japanese puppet. Maybe China should re-christen itself as an oversized Japanese prefecture and take up Japanese. And maybe learn to use chopsticks, or some such.
