Stuff is just hitting me. I am missing Rush and his voice of reason.
I’m with you. I was thinking about Rush the other day and how he’d be scorching Biden right now. I found Rush in May of ‘89 and was a loyal listener until the end.
national voice of reason
There is none now.
There won’t be another Rush. Time to move on. I don’t mean this unkindly. Even if there was another host as brilliant he’d have the ego of Rush and go his own way. Just be glad that we had Rush as long as we did.
Except for the first few years of the BushII administration when Rush tied himself in mental knots trying to justify Bush’s liberal/globalist agenda. Aside from that Rush has been very consistent. I think BushII disappointed Rush more than anything. But I couldn’t listen to Rush’s excuses for Bush and dropped his show for a few years.
Remember that is the evil amongst us who never seem to die. Soros, Pelosi... these people hang on forever. Perhaps its’ the fear that they are for the pit of fire that keeps them hanging on.
Many of his words still travel around in my head. “feminazis” “drive by media” “For those of you in Rio Linda” “You People” “Addadictomy” “The Rev’rennnnd Jack’suhhnnnnnn”.
Ditto Dat!!
Yeah, they haven’t replaced him and he woke up a lot of good people and fought the good fight.
He also got totally captured by the Bushes for a critical 12 years. Unfortunately.
Talent on loan from God
“Half my brain tied behind my back, just to make it fair.”
I know. I have not pondered on him for months. It may be 9/11 that was a reminder.
Rush was one-of-a-kind. Like Ronald Reagan - we’ll not soon see their like again.
It’s the good cheer, humor and optimism that are sorely missed.
I feel like all talkers have the same hard edge that just grinds a person down on a daily basis
I've often said Rush was at his absolute best when speaking with a young caller and inspiring them as to what they could do with the possibilities before them. Redpoll's comment reminded me of that.
What an amazing commencement speaker Rush would have been! Alas, the left would make sure that could not happen by raising a stink. I wish he recorded a generic commencement address that would be fitting for these virtual times. Bo Snerdly, you could create one from the vault of broadcast excellence.
I miss that ol windbag too
I think a song was recorded about him in 1990.
buck and clay don’t even come close..
I can’t listen to them.
Mega Dittos.
I felt that way a couple of weeks ago. I just miss his voice, his humor and his insight.
Mark Belling WTMJ out of Milwaukee starting at 3pm CDT for three hours.
He use to fill in for Rush from time to time.
Mark suffered a minor stroke about a year ago so now is on only 4 days a week. Somebody else on Fridays. You can find his podcast and enjoy him that way.
“Yes, conservatives have dominated talk radio, but what has that gotten us?”
I’ve thought that before. Obviously the conservative talk show get a large enough audience that appeals to certain advertisers to make the shows profitable, but there are only marginally enough conservatives to win elections.
But we’re better off with the conservative talkers than without them.
Rush was one of a kind. I loved the big guy.
Gone far too soon. Rest in peace.
