Las Vegas feed store says customers must prove they own a horse before being allowed to purchase Ivermectin
NY Daily News via msn ^ | 30 Aug 2021 | Brandon Sapienza

...At V & V Tack and Feed in Las Vegas, store associates like Shelly Smith are asking customers who are interested in purchasing the drug to show a photograph of the horse they own...

...Smith also said that she encountered a customer who was looking for the dewormer. The man had been taking Ivermectin for numerous weeks despite being warned repeatedly about the possible side effects. He insisted, however, that he has not experienced any side effects except not being able to “see in the morning.”

Smith said that was a good enough reason to not take the drug.

In Texas you do not have to take horse medicine. (I know lots of people who do) It is regularly prescribed where I live and it works. The local drug store has it on hand, does not have to special order it.

My 95 year old father was diagnosed with Covid19 in December. He was prescribed 3mg Ivermectin tablet 4X per day for 3 days. No symptoms by the 4th day. He had long history of heart trouble, and Pick’s disease. He did die in March, but it was not because of Covid.

Other than temporarily blindness, no problems.

Two things pop in to mind. We use ivermectin on our homestead, and we don't have any horses. What business is it of the feed store what kind of animals we have? Secondly, what business is it of the feed store what people use the ivermectin for? Sounds to me like a bit of true fascism by the feed store going on here. This type of behavior by businesses has made it harder and more expensive for us to get what we need to maintain the health of our animals.

Kind of scary that people don't have a problem with businesses behaving in this manner; especially people here on FR.

“The man had been taking Ivermectin for numerous weeks despite being warned repeatedly about the possible side effects.”

Sounds like it’s not a problem for him. Just don’t down the whole tube at once and you’re fine. In fact, the tube should last an adult between 5 and 10 dosages - if you can’t get at least 5 doses from a tube, you’re either taking too much or you’re taking the right amount, but you’re obese.

So you are saying private business shouldn’t have a right to decide for themselves how to operate their businesses?

Who’s the facist now?

The FDA has said multiple times that Ivermectin is not approved for human use and it can be dangerous in large doses. The agency added that “animal drugs are often highly concentrated because they are used for large annuals like horses and cows, which weigh a lot more than we do — a ton or more. Such high doses can be highly toxic in humans.”

The final paragraph explains the problem pretty well. Some might, or they are, taking larger doses than intended for humans. That's human error and not a reason to try to scare everyone away from a drug that's proven beneficial in many parts of the world.

So - how much was he taking?

I see ignorant people making stupid assumptions while not realizing they’re being ignorant and stupid.

Too much of anything can kill you - even water.

The man had been taking Ivermectin for numerous weeks despite being warned repeatedly about the possible side effects.

Meanwhile, in Africa, people take Stromectol to prevent the scourge of River Blindness. Because Africa is on a different planet where different health effects result from the same compound.

No, I didn't say that, and the fact you took that tack shows exactly what kind of uneducated person person you really are. They can run their business in any manner they wish. This time, they are delving in to other people's business that is none of their concern; guarantee the owners see nothing wrong with socialism. Plus, they are falling in line with government edicts that have no place in the public market place. As a private citizen, I can point that out to my heart's content.

And just to educate your stupid ass. If I were fascist, I would be advocating that the government threaten these types of businesses with regulatory repercussions if they didn't follow the government plan. Right now, they ARE threatened with repercussions if they don't do what the government wants (curtail the use of ivermectin to fight the COOF), and every business owner knows it. So, your defense of their activities actually mean you support what is happening; ie you are defending facism.

I see you post all over FR. Why don't you stop pretending to be a conservative/patriot and just openly admit you are an argumentative troll?

We’ve got meat goats but you won’t find a tube of Ivermectin with a picture of a goat on the package. I buy the horse Ivermectin or Fenbendazole because it’s cheaper than a tube for the next closest in weight animal, dogs. Bigger package, better deal as is typical.
