A professional paintballer was kicked off her team Monday for making fun of a teenager infected with COVID-19 and saying he doesn’t need the vaccine but instead, “a [bleep] treadmill.”
Jessica Maiolo, 31, posted a since-deleted video on TikTok about the Miami teen, who spent 10 days in the hospital with the virus, and how his mother said she’d wished she’d gotten him the vaccine sooner so the serious illness could’ve been prevented.
“Ma’am your kid does not need a COVID shot,” Maiolo, standing in front of a television with the news report paused, said in the video.
“Your kid needs a [bleep] treadmill. That’s what he needs.”
Maiolo was excoriated on the social media platform for being a “vile human,” fat shaming a teenager and spreading vaccine misinformation.
Except, of course, if your eclectic mix of culture,
This story is shocking... truly shocking. I had no idea that “professional paintballer” was a thing.
Same here.
>> “Your kid needs a f–king treadmill. That’s what he needs.”
Safe guess she’s right.
The shot wouldn’t prevent him from getting covid. The CDC has half the country brainwashed
Neither did I but you can make a living at i. From an article I found on the Web:
As in all professional sports, there is a range of salaries that ultimately depends on your skill and worth to any given team. According to data collected in the United States, the bottom 10% of professional paintballers average $36,000 per year.
If you are good enough to make it into the top 10% of the sport, you can expect a salary of around $165,000.
If you want a cumulative average of what the general professional paintballer makes per year, you are looking at about $77,000.
Not too bad at all when you think about it. Getting paid more than the average person to play a fun game is undoubtedly a privilege.
However, these numbers do not precisely reflect the money earned from simply playing paintball. A big chunk of the cash these paintballers make comes from sponsorships and advertisements.
On average, professional paintballers earn about $40,000 from sponsorships alone — it is clearly a huge part of their annual income.
I don’t know what this kid looks like, but obesity is a definite comorbidity for Covid.
Why anyone would use their real name on social media is a mystery to me.
Does obesity play a role on whether Covid-19 infected individuals have poorer outcomes, or not? Has the CDC or anybody released any guidance on this? What are the statistics?
Perhaps her words could have been chosen more artfully, and she should have been more careful in this brave new world of Year Zero pseudo-science and quackery that is also infecting everyone.
According to the CDC it does
Well any respiratory illness or breathing issue is certainly going to make matters worse if they get covid. Obese individuals always have underlying medical issues and breathing issues as well....those can go undetected until they get cover or some issue where tests are done etc.
Yeah, that’s what I was hearing right from the start of this thing. It’s easy for me to opine being at a healthy weight. But them’s the facts.
But it’s really, really weird I think they haven’t been reading the public the riot act on this issue. And it’s been 18 months. This “body positivity” and “being fat is healthy”, now there’s some genuine disinformation.
Maybe, if the authorities were doing their job a bit better, this young lady wouldn’t feel compelled to do it in the first place? Because in a way, that’s kind of what’s happening. Yeah, maybe rude, though probably what people need to hear, get right down to it.
Right you are; I had read an article last month noting that obesity is the MOST COMMON co-morbidity for COVID, AND the LEAST MENTIONED.
I understand Thyroid issues, diabetes, and other besetting health problems that land some people in the realm of unhealthy body weight; Hell, just getting older and working an office job tends to, uh, “bless” you with an extra stone, or two to carry.
But I’ve got an extra 15-ish hanging around, and the bells are going off in my head to get intentional, and get it throttled. I guess a lotta folks haven’t got those same kinda bells.
Whew! I need to take a shower after plowing through some of that bullshit. Get a load of this gibberish word salad, the whole page is weasel word and thought ending cliches:
“Obesity is a complex disease with many contributing factors. Neighborhood design, access to healthy, affordable foods and beverages, and access to safe and convenient places for physical activity can all impact obesity. The racial and ethnic disparities in obesity underscore the need to address social determinants of health such as poverty, education, and housing to remove barriers to health.”
I guess the fatties are whities fault too, or something. I mean of course. Being so poor that you get too much food and get fat, is ... an interesting phenomenon, “Only In America” one that I have rarely seen outside the not-so United States. So they come up with this twaddle, it is absolute bullshit.
At least they do allow (for now anyway, be sure to check next week folks) being a fattie will likely get one kilt by the ChiCom bug.
In most of the world poverty doesn’t F around. Trust me.
“Obesity is a complex disease with many contributing factors’
Fork to mouth.
“Your digging your grave with your fork.”
Your - You’re
Yep....I was at an ice-cream shop with two women who filled both sides of their booth and then some.....Banana splits said it all.
Obesity is probably the main factor in Covid illnesses and death in people who aren’t aged.
