I’m already legally armed and can carry and do when I please.
But if someone doesn’t want to ever carry or even own a weapon they should be free to refrain.

The reason it didn't happen in Boulder is because Boulder's leftist government is hostile towards gun owning Americans.

In other news, police investigators concluded Grandma would not have been run over by the reindeer walking home from Christmas Eve if she was armed with her 8-inch 44 mag and following proper patrol procedures. (Sometimes you need the dark humor to come out to feel better.)

They didn't used to be.
I remember a few years ago when the, "Moms Looking For A Little Bit Of Action," went around demanding Kroger make their facilities into, "Gun Free Zones."
Kroger responded with, "We will comply with whatever the state laws demand when it comes to firearms."
I went to my local King Soopers (Kroger) and asked their manager to straighten out what they were desiring from their customers with this issue.
She said that they'll comply with the state law, and that she is very happy with concealed carriers in her store.
She said that it makes her feel safe -as well as her employees.
I haven't asked her about it since.
(Although from the look on her face during our previous conversation, I think she's of the, "Don't ask don't tell," opinion)

I’ve been so armed at times myself. But I wonder about how things could come down. What if I pull my weapon due to a shooter and get shot by another CC person who mistakes me for a bad guy? Or by a cop? If I can exit the store rather than engage, should I? Split second decisions with lives, including mine at stake. Can I take a guy armed with a semiauto rifle and wearing body armor with my 38? Doesn’t sound like a good thing to try.
