In 1984 ex-KGB agent Anatoliy Golitsyn wrote a historical book documenting how a handful of Bolsheviks were able to take over the Russian Empire. I significant stratagem they used was called “Trust Operation” (today’s “Trust the Plan”, “Trust Sessions”, “Trust Barr”, etc.) In this operation, many ex-generals of and leaders of the old Aristocracy who had defected to the Soviet ideology posed as “white hats” fighting the rising communists. Their mission, protect and defend the Soviet Takeover of the Russian Empire and the world!

I can’t fault someone for trusting for the first 30-90 days of his Presidency that there was some secret “plan” to clean up DC. But it should have become quickly obvious that Sessions was an empty suit who could barely speak in public without sounding like a second grader trying sound out words.

But on the other hand, it gave the most radical of Trump's supporters hope that a mythical cabal would swoop in at any moment to save the Republic and destroy the Deep State -- keeping them from taking a more rambunctious option like what we saw on January 6th or worse.

And when their saviors fell away (Sessions, Huber, Wray, Rosentstein, Barr, Durham, etc.), they just moved the goalposts with a new set of heroes.

Again, it's surprising so many were taken in...
