My guess is the NBA is regretting starting this whole thing back up. They thought that the BLM crap would have people flocking to the TV to watch their games.
What they discovered is that their woke marketing people do not understand their own audience. The BLM crap on the sidelines, the badges on the coaches, and the stuff on the backs of the uniforms could, at best, be described as distractions. At worst, those things turned off a majority of their audience.
On top of that, their games came across as if they were a bad AAU tournament. (Anyone whose kids were half decent basketball players know exactly what I am talking about.)
AAU tournaments are only fun for the players and their parents. No one would watch them on TV.
The owners must be burning through cash. They are OK with putting a stop to it.

They should fire all of them and just hire normal people who are out of work. After all, everybody is equal in their abilities we’re told.

I think the right thing these millionaire oppressed down wit da struggle NBA players need to do is... refuse to play the next 2 or 3 seasons. Maybe 4.
It’s not just the owners who are burning through cash, but the venues, vendors, and all the other ripple economy associated with the NBA.
Same with all the other woke professional sports.
There are a TON of young kids who would love a shot at playing in the NBA!!
Time to flush these turds, and bring in a new batch of young talent who want to play!!!!
I feel bad for the poor TV techs; and all the people working in the “bubble.” I guess they have to explain to their mortgage companies and landlords that the babies in the NBA don’t think their lives matter.

Yeah, except paint has a higher intellectual capacity than most NBA players.
They could have played, probably gotten the league to dedicate the playoffs to some racial justice charity (the league has gone along with everything else so far, so why not), played their hearts out as a distraction from the rioting and inspiration to the youth about positive social change, and then donated all of their salaries to that charity as well.
They did this instead.

I used to do a lot of work on public housing projects in Minneapolistan and St Paul. I noticed that the basketball hoops gradually got taken down. Too many fights started on the courts was my guess.

Yeah. The NBA boycotting the NBA is a new one.
I actually tried to watch a couple of games with my son. I saw multiple instances of a 6’3” or 6’4” guy driving the lane and dunking without being put on his butt ... in the Playoffs! My Captain Obvious observation is that it isn’t 1990 anymore. No defense is played at all. Unwatchable garbage.
