Agadmator runs an extremely popular chess-only youtube channel / subscription and it has been on with no problems for YEARS. He has a deffinite accent so I think he is of (a guess) slavic ancestry but speaks fluent English. Has done thousands(?) of game analysis for eras from Paul Morphy to current world Grand Master Magnus Carlsen.
He was doing an interactive podcast when he got blocked by Youtube about an hour in. An immediate protest was almost immediately denied. Most likely an algorithm / bot, but an increasingly obvious hyper-sensitive Youtube habit.
For years I have been saying that this script had to be coming from an alcohol & drug fueled bull-session of over-educated zealots seeking to top one another in outrageous acts! Now, I have to surrender, the LEFT controls Academia and we are inheriting that tidal wave of fanaticism.
Who knew chess was edgy.
That is the PROBLEM with these Social Media platforms and particularly their robot algorithms, you are not told of any specifics. It is a very generic message about violating their 'standards', a most mobile goalpost!
My guess is that there was too close together sequence about white, black, takes and the block is triggered. In the video, agadmator thinks it will be cleared when a human reviews it.
The problem with that 'solution' is that thee will be an equally generic response that removes the block without any explanation, thus leaving the potential for a further repetition in the future.

Yes, one lacked the degree of violence we are seeing today but all extremists campaigns are driven by a form of hysteria. They all have that in common.

I played in a chess club in high school, in the early ‘60’s. Haven’t really played since then.

By the 80’s. Algebraic notation was standard in Europe and more precise - each square has only one name. Descriptive fans fought a rearguard action, but lost out a long time ago. :)
I'd say, hardly any.
I was a Manhattan Chess Club member for two or three years. I don't recall seeing any black players there. (This was in the 70s. Membership was something like $200/year, so that may have been an issue.)
A Google search suggests that there are 1500 chess players who have reached the Grandmaster rank. (This may include the fewer than 10% who are no longer alive.)
Another search suggests that there were only THREE Grandmasters of African descent in 2015.
FTR, only 37 women are Grandmasters. (Not counting those who hold the lesser title of Woman Grandmaster)

I watch agadmator (Antonio Radic) chess videos every week. He is from Croatia. He has close to 700,000 subscribers.
They threatened to ban him a month ago, but I cannot recall what political infraction he committed then.

By the way - he was scheduled to interview Japanese grandmaster Hikaru Nakamura on his channel today.
I wonder if something innocent was said during the interview that motivated the Political Left to destroy the livelihood of a hard working chess entrepreneur from a lower middle class country?

The McCarthy era grew out of the insane concessions that FDR and Truman made to Stalin, plus the USA and British espionage that delivered our atomic bomb secrets to Mother Russia.
The USA State Department was a buzzing hive of Communist sympathizers, and Hollywood was deeply radicalized.
And, the popular history of that era was written by Hard Left historians and journalists.

I watched Endgame, a movie about how a Brownsville, TX teacher taught and developed a winning school chess team. It grew into clubs at all the Brownsville school and they’ve won multiple tournaments since it was first implemented. The movie was good.
