What are you doing about COVID-19?

I'm 68 y/o, not in bad shape, but not excellent, have historical issues. I live in CA (central valley).

Bottom line: I'm not convinced I'll contract COVID, but I do believe I won't survive it if I do.

This has me getting my life in order, in my case, a herculean effort to get it done before possible contraction. Need to brush up my will, personal finances, administration..........then there are physical assets, misc. deals I'm working on. It's a huge job and I must get it done quickly.

Lastly, I'm going to show my daughter how to give FR updates and if necessary, notice of my death.

Stalking around my hovel with a baseball bat. Anything that looks like it might be a virus gets popped — but good.

I should FINALLY show my husband how to pay bills and where papers are. We are in our early 60s. He is not nervous, but I am. We live hermit lives anyway. No more Dollar General for awhile, I could almost feel the germs flying around there. 😜

Well first thing is not to panic, that’s what the MSM is doing to US. Right now I’d just stay away from crowds (if possible) and stay at home if that’s possible too (unless you have obligations you absolutely have to attend to). My airline sent me home on furlough until the end of April and fortunately I live in a small community up in the mountains so it’s relatively safe from outside virus’ -

I’ve stayed in....and stopped my daily shopping to every store in Town. I might buy bread and milk at Aldi, two cans of Tomato soup at Dollar Tree. But I walk up and down every aisle and that’s my exercise program at age 75. And the little bit of lifting is my muscle builder.

Going to work. Seeing patients.

We are offering drive through testing for coronavirus and no online bookings. Every appointment must be booked through a nurse. If it sounds like Coronavirus they will be handled by telehealth. Those who are very I’ll are being sent to the ER. And we are using more and more and telehealth for all manner of things.

I’ve had those things on my to do list for years. This thing has brought it back to the front burner. A silver lining of sorts.

I’ve killed and eaten my neighbors.

In other words, no different than any other day.

Where in the Valley? I’m in Turlock. BTW - if you are planning, be sure to get an Advance Care Directive in place. Here’s my program: www.sanjoaquinccc.org

I am 56 and healthy. I have been to the market a half dozen times at least since the CHINA flu hit. Have not worn gloves or masks but others do. When I come home I wash my hands or shower.

I am not worried about getting it but I am terrified what this is doing to the economy and people's financial lives AND the explosion of bailouts that is inevitable.

My wife was hours away from death from a viral lung infection last year about this time

She is still not back to 100% a year later. Worried if she gets it will be the end of her.

I’ve already prepared for my mortality (I’m taking the rest of you bastards with me when I go) so not a lot to do, really. Help a neighbor in trouble if I encounter one, I suppose, although given where I live even that’s pretty rare. I may get cranky when the beer runs out but I suspect this thing will be over by 2030.
