oh and one more thing....trusts do not always mean when what you think...like billionaires jetting around.

Sometimes, they are a function of protecting assets from Medicaid, creditors, taxes, stock gains, etc and should be an important part of financial planning as one grows older

Too funny—I had a grandfather who passed away that had a bank trust department manage his estate.

His instructions included not giving his heirs any money until a certain number of years after his death.

By the time the bank trust department got through with it (collecting nice fees along the way, of course) most of what I got was twenty years of maximum allowed tax loss carry forwards...

;-)

Let’s hope that hydroxychloroquine works - but where is that antibiotic produced that is used with it? China?

I’m well aware. Trusts should be used at any level of income as it protects and makes any transition in the case of death so much easier.

Hong Kong learned how to manage this from their SARS experience.

Schools have been closed there for nearly 2 months now. Supposed to open in April but we’ll see.

Positives and their contacts are REQUIRED to stay home for 14 days. IIRC it’s jail time or huge fine to break quarantine.

They’ve been testing testing testing since the outbreak began and have done full contact tracing where possible.

We’re way way way behind HK’s game.

Yeah, millions infected and 12-14,000 dead is much better. Do you have grandparents? If so, do you hate them? If not, how much money are their lives worth? $100,000? $1,000,000?, $100?

What a whiner. I raised the alarm knowing I would lose a boatload of money. That is what we call be righteous.

There’s a difference between the typical family trust, and one in which somebody has no control over.

Who would put their money in a trust where they don’t control the majority vote?

Extending the filing date is confusing to me. People are sitting around at home, they’ve got plenty of time to work on their taxes.

Bringing over from 20 since I ended up one of the last to post there

Just a few files

Water Collection and Treatment files are up. All pdf files. https://permasteader.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?fid=9

Unfortunately, you'll have to register to download the pdf files and I don't see any way to change that in the settings. I hate to use a third party to host the files. I need to change the software I use for the blog part of my site soon because the one I've been testing has development issues(one whiny lib dev who doesn't even want to be a dev), else I would upload there. I don't believe in spam or sharing info and all you need is an email address. Don't need to post or anything. I just tested it by registering with a different browser. Email address, user name, receive email activation link which happens quick, activate and was able to download pdf immediately.

Off to work on food info. Short term, long term storage, emergency cooking methods etc.

The mega rich, such as the Rockefellers, the Sulzburgers...to guard against do nothing profligate wastrel descendants creating legal battles that last forever.

Quite true. One thing I noticed, both offline and online, is that the most strident flubro/troll/dittoheads that are claiming the Wuhan virus is a hoax are mostly worried about the stock market and their investments.

My view is, what is the use of money if you and/or your lovedones are dead?

New York City now has 3,615 positive cases of COVID-19 and 22 deaths, Mayor Bill de Blasio announces.

That’s over an 1,100 person increase in positive tests since what was announced at 10:30am.

Mayor also announces appointment only testing centers at city hospitals.

Everyone is busy bartering for goods they cannot buy. Good luck tracing those transactions. Lol.

NYC will explode in a Biblical fashion.
DeBlasio is not doing what must be done.

And by the time this is finally over the people will hang him from a lamp post in times square with the NYPD as an honor guard.
