"And I dont think people are going to be dropping dead on the sidewalks."
That may depend on how pissed off people are. Those fanning the panic should think about that.

They will stop at nothing to hurt the President.
Impeachment didn't work.
Sex sandals don't work.
He is sexist didn't work.
He is racist didn't work.
All they have running are a couple of buffoons. This is personal to them now. No one has stood up to them like President Trump does. That's how they became a powerful influence over the people. They are loosing their power. They will stop will stop at nothing to keep it. They will burn down the country if they have to.

and maybe even some societal collapse type of fear.
That one is very rational given our moral and intellectual decay. Look at the toilet paper hoarding. I have a credible report of an in-store brawl over the last few bottles of hand sanitizer.

A lot of big investors are saying that the virus is already on the decline in China
Unfortunately you can't rely on any numbers coming out of a Communist government.

OK this is getting nuts.
I have been one who was saying to keep any eye on this for weeks now, but idiocy is NoT called for.
It’s the flu... If you get it, it may be a very bad case of the flu... but not enough to close down the country.
If anything this will encourage people to be cleaner and more sanitary.
I betcha all this coddling of children for the last 4 decades made us less resistant to all manner of stuff.
We used to play “Mud Ball” in the rain when I was a kid. the goal was to play tackle football in the rain, in the muddiest field we could find. I remember coming home head to toe covered in mud, having had the time of my life.

I think sanity will finally be restored by May.....Chicken Littles and hand wringers will be deeply saddened. I hope so, but I think that this will hearlded as the new 1918 flu that lasted over a year. Once past the election, this Covid-19 will disappear as did the 1918 flu.

Anyone have a good article comparing this to H1N1 Swine flu of 2009?
As I recall, 300 K were hospitalized here in the US, and like 20,000 died here. Worldwide there were like 500,000 deaths, yet all we heard was how great a job Obama was doing at it.

First step is to hang all the CEOs and boards who sold our supply chain to the Chinese, cheap, over the last 40 years.=========================
No.
It is the Bush family and the Clintons who should be hanged. Really.
It is they who created an economic climate in the US that actually chased industry out...first to Mexico and then to China and other pacific rim countries.
This plus the Chinese threat to stop selling pharmaceuticals to the US, in the middle of a health crisis, is another gift from the Bush family that just keeps on giving.
I hope everyone understands where and how this started.

Smart investors know better than to accept what the Chinese government is saying.
They pay good money for good intel.
Along these lines, I recently read a snippet about hedge funds buying close-to-realtime satellite images of U.S. factories so they could analyze the movement of goods coming off the assembly lines. You can be sure some investors are doing eyes-on examinations of Chinese cities (like Wuhan) to analyze the movement of people around town.

That’s the answer to all the questions.

The problem is not going to be the virus. The problem is going to be the democrats and the media refusing to ever let it go.
It is Russia, Russia ,Russia all over again. They are so thoroughly invested the virus hysteria must continue until December 20 20

I predict that a vaccine will come on line for this virus by June. I suspect 75% of the population will get the vaccine by August. YMMV
