If your loved ones were killed by the negligence of others would you just forget it when people said you were GREEDY for seeking compensation.

Your loved one’s earning power would be used in helping determining damages. But of course, I guess you are saying you would turn down that money based on negligence of the party responsible for killing your loved one..RIGHT???

>>>Oh brother. She already hit the lotto. Your just pissed she’s black. If this was Ivanka trump and daughter, your snide remarks would be incredibly different.>>>

Stupid @#$%^$....I don’t care what color she is. Actually, I thought she was hispanic anyways. Fool.

If I didn’t need it because I already had millions, and no amount of money will bring him back, being a more spiritual person, I don’t think in those terms.

All of you people trying to shame Vanessa Bryant should go to bed tonight and think about what it would be like if a drunken drugged up irresponsible jerk killed your whole family in a car tomorrow.

What would life be like for you..and would seek redress from the person who wiped out your family.

Stop shaming her.

You have no idea what she is going to do with the money.

So you are trying to tell me if your whole family was killed tomorrow by a Wal Mart truck driver who had no sleep and was drunk and drugged...you wouldn’t sue.

I DO NOT BELIEVE IT

I doubt the pilot was drunk. And I know me......if this happened and I lost my wife and daughter, Not only would I feel devastated and despair for my loss....but I’d feel terrible for the family of the pilot too. Grace does that to a person. Grace as Christ taught. I wouldn’t sue anyone..I’d pray for their family. Anger and hate and bitterness. Even people who lost whole families to the Nazis forgave. They didn’t want hate or anger to eat them up inside. I suggest the book by Corey Tenboom. You’ll see what I am talking about.

I didn’t say the pilot was drunk. He was negligent. There is no doubt about it. His company was not licensed to fly in those conditions using visual site. There is technicality involved in what he was allowed and not allowed to do....but it is clear negligence.

And the company will have to pay.

I suspect a good portion will go to the charity she has set up..but even if it doesn’t..she is entitled to it.

And people should stop shaming her.

Coke bought a stake in Body Armor. Not the entire company.

Well here is another lawsuit waiting to happen...It will be interesting to see if Body Armor had Key Man insurance on Kobe. That will help determine how key he was to the company:

https://www.coca-colacompany.com/press-releases/coca-cola-and-bodyarmor-announce-new-strategic-relationships

In 2013, Kobe Bryant became the No. 3 shareholder in the company and has been an integral part of the success of the brand with his involvement in creative, marketing and partnerships. Bryant will continue to be heavily involved in the brand, especially as BODYARMOR expands to global markets in the future.

“All of you people trying to shame Vanessa Bryant should go to bed tonight and think about what it would be like if a drunken drugged up irresponsible jerk killed your whole family in a car tomorrow.”

You not only implied the pilot was drunk, you implied he was high on drugs too. I don’t care how you spin the above statement of yours. That’s exactly what you implied.

I think it’s a shame for her to sue anyone. They go to church. Christians are held to a higher standard. The world, like you sues. The world, like is angry and bitter and full of hate. The Christian grieves for their own losses and the losses of others and they forgive.

I DID NOT IMPLY HE WAS DRUNK OR HIGH. I did state he was negligent if the reports about his company are correct.

Good god, just like I didn’t imply he was driving a car.

I gave a real life example that could happen to the middle class. In fact, it happens on a regular basis.

I fail to see why a person whose family is killed by a truck driver of Wal Mart should be able to sue for negligence but Vanessa Bryant isn’t allowed to sue by holier than thou people on this thread.

btw, for those that keep using the word GRED...I want you to think about this also:

When the drunk driver kills your bread winner and your child..and the lawyer says it is a clear case of negligence..how much do YOU want for the death of your loved ones by negligence.

Children usually get small payouts for a variety of reasons ...is it GREED if you are upset because you only are offered 15K by the insurance company for the death of your child due the negligent hands of another. Your CHILD IS DEAD. Can we call you greedy if 15k is not enough????

How much for your bread winner. What if you are offered 100K . Is that ENOUGH..or are you GREEDY because your bread winner would have made far more than that during the lifetime.

there is a calculation to be made when a loved one dies from negligence. Of course, you can turn it down or give it to charity.

It is all well and good to shout GREED until your loved one is killed by the negligence of another.

So what if it’s unpopular? So now athletes can’t be sued because they were once popular?

Unless Kobe knew or should have known that the pilot was not qualified to fly in those conditions there is no legal basis for a lawsuit against him.

Except that did not happen.
We get your worship of bryant. Please
stop acting like he’s God. He dribbled
a ball. He threw it in a basket.
He is dead.
Get over it.

On what legal theory would she be entitled to punitive damages?

Maybe lawsuit is just to get on record the helicopter company negligent.
Shift the blame and prevent suing Kobe’s estate?
Kobe’s estate is where the big money is.
Vanessa obviously has advisors protecting her & family.
Other people lost their lives in that crash and grief does cause people to think differently..Kobe invited those people, I bet they’ll sue.

Right. But what if the pilot warned him, but he insisted on their going anyway?
