LOS ANGELES -- Vanessa Bryant is suing the company involved in the helicopter crash that killed Kobe and Gianna Bryant last month.

Kobe and Gianna were among 9 people killed in the crash.

The wrongful death claim was submitted Monday morning, the day of the public memorial service for Kobe and Gianna.

In the 72-page claim, Bryant's attorney alleges Ara Zobayan "failed to properly monitor and assess the weather prior to takeoff."''

The lawsuit also alleges "he failed to obtain proper weather data" prior to the flight.

The claim also names Zobayan's estate as a defendant.

In a statement, Island Express said:

"This was a tragic accident. We will have no comment on the pending litigation."

There is a 50 million max payout on the insurance.. Judge will have to decide because they claims will be over 50 million.

If the dude wasnt licensed to fly in those conditions as reported....the company will go bankrupt.

Please direct me to the facts that prove the company was negligent big time!!!

Do you have an early copy of the NTSB mishap report, and if so, please share.

When it comes to mishaps, after flying for over 30-yrs and as a certified and experienced mishap investigator, I usually wait for the report to find out what actually happened, mechanically, skill wise, and hundreds of other things not obvious.

Why? Over 5 million per person. Why isn’t that enough? Greed?

Oh yeah, but it was the walk home that I hated. I made two vows when I drove out the gate at Pendleton for the last time.
#1: I would never go anywhere I couldn't walk home if I had to.
#2: I would never put one foot in front of the other any further or any faster than absolutely necessary.

I have kept both vows to this day. (50 yrs)

It stems from reports he wasnt licensed to fly in that weather.

I dont remember the technical details.

This case won’t be the typical case involving a dead teenager. Gianna did have the ability to make money. Her dad had just trademarked her to sell a variety of items.
Of course, Kobe could easily get to 50 million just own his own death.

No, it is not enough. Maybe for the average middle class earner.

Kobe was not a middle class earner.

Jesus. You just had to see the fog and know that. I know some of you lack common sense.

If they have a letter or cell phone message from Kobe demanding the flight they might get off. Otherwise they will settle out of court.

She already won the lotto. His estate is worth hundreds of millions regardless of any litigation.

Oh brother. She already hit the lotto. Your just pissed she’s black. If this was Ivanka trump and daughter, your snide remarks would be incredibly different.

That won’t be enough. No matter how much pressure Kobe made to fly that helicopter..he was the not the professional who knew the conditions. The ultimate responsibility is on the Pilot.

For those that are complaining about Vanessa..shame on you for shaming her.

Kobe was a multi million dollar earner. Gianna was set to be the same. She is due compensation if that Pilot is at fault. She is also due punitative damages.

There will be complicated calculations in her loss. Kobe has many business investments including Body Armor and part owner of an investment fund.

I saw a guy walking down the street today with 4 bottles of Kobe’s energy drink. I imagine Coke is going to buy that company for billions and billions shortly. His widow will be one of the richest women on the planet when that happens.

Her net worth has nothing to do with what she is entitled to for the loss of her husband.

She could be worth 5 billion dollars..and the calculations would be the same.

I don’t know what percentage he has in the company. THe payout may not be as much as you think.

Certainly, the reported 50 million dollar insurance payout is not going to cover the payout on this. The company should have had more insurance given that they had high dollar earners who used their services.
