When we speak of dog people, are we talking about dog faced pony soldiers?

Yea for this thread!!

Cats rule and don’t tell them they don’t. They don’t listen because they don’t have/want to.

Dogs wave their tails because they are happy. Cats wave their tails to show their disposition.

I’ve got a Macaw.

Please let me know the next time your dog or cat talks to you in English. (In context.)

Dogs are my friends. Cats are just simply a comedy show of female style behavior.

I have Mountain Feists (inside/outside dogs) so I don’t need cats. My Feists catch more mice and rats than any cat I ever saw. Besides, my two Mountain Curs outside would kill a cat.

So considering myself (dog person, if anything) and my left-wing sister (cat person:
1. There are more dog people than cat people.
Who knows?
2. Dog people are far more sociable and outgoing than cat people.
We're about the same.
3. Cat people are more intelligent than dog people.
About the same here. She got 800 on her Verbal. I got 800 on the Math.
4. Cat people are more neurotic than dog people.
I don't think either of us is neurotic.
5. Cat people are more likely to live alone and in apartments than dog people.
Neither of us lives alone.
6. Dog people are more likely to live in rural areas than cat people.
We both live outside of eastern seaboard cities.
7. Dog people tend to be more conservative than cat people.
YES, DEFINITELY !! !!<
8. Dog people are more obedient—just like dogs.
Hard to guage.
9. Cat people are more open-minded than dog people.
Maybe?
10. Cat people are more sensitive than dog people.
Hard to guage.
11. Dog people are more masculine than cat people.
Yes.
12. Dog people tend to tolerate cats; cat people hate dogs.
Not true for either of us.
13. Dog people and cat people have a different favorite Beatle.
I don't have a favorite Beatle; don't know if my sister does.
14. Dog people and cat people have a different sense of humor.
Probably true.
15. Cat people are more independent. 16. Cat people are more likely to be atheists.
YES !
17. Dog people are seeking companionship; cat people are seeking affection.
Not sure how to judge this one.

Try a Maine Coon, they are the dogs of the cat world.

Maine Coons rule! My Coon's natural habitat is my lap. She tells me what she needs by making little meows and standing near what she wants to be filled: water bowl, food bowl, or my lap (with her, of course).

I got ‘em both: A cat who truly thinks he’s a dog (plays fetch; begs and does a few tricks; follows me everywhere around the house). A different type of critter, I suppose.

Had a cat that played fetch all the time. Nothing like a wet ball on the face waking you up at night. Keep the lid down folks.

My golden plays 1/2 fetch. You toss, she fetches and keeps. Just a wannabe lap dog mostly. Great house dog.

I like both.

They saved the best for last. Dog people want a buddy and companion, cat owners want to be kneaded in their fleshy folds.

Sounds about right, lol.

I have no problem with either...but...

I detest a free-running cat that kills every damned thing it can stalk.

Free-running, or feral if you prefer to call them that, cats are one of the biggest destroyers of song birds and small reptiles.

And they don't do it for food...they do it because they can.

I bell every one I can trap.

Yep, I put traps out for cats.

If the owners will not keep the damn things at home, then I'm gonna trap them, bell them and release them.

I've yet to see a belled cat sneak up on a song bird and kill it.

I've belled a couple more than once.

Don't care if anyone likes it.

I don't currently have a cat, but the ones I have had were inside cats...period.

I feel the same about a feral/free-running dog, but I only handle them when I see them running or harassing my cattle...something I rarely see anyway and have had happen once in 30 years.

I keep dogs on a regular basis, both as pets and working/hunting dogs.

Regardless of what they are, I keep them up...I do not ever allow them to run free, other than in the field under my voice control while either quail or duck hunting.

I've got nearly an entire acre fenced in with chain link and two of my house doors have pet access doors on them.

They have plenty of room to run and come and go as they please.

I detest anyone that puts a dog on a chain.

I understand that a leash is necessary sometimes, but if you're too lazy or stupid to train your dog for voice command and to work off leash, then you shouldn't have the dog.

You’ll be happy to know that when our cat brings home a hapless lizard that she caught, there are no injuries to the animal. She drops it on the floor and bats at it. Meows at us to acknowledge her achievement. We confiscate it and release it back outside.

That’s what my former cat would do....from baby rabbits to field mice and even bats....dropped them on my kitchen floor and I’d have to chase and capture them Believe me that was no picnic!

I hope I don't start a war.

Oh yeah? You know you just did and you did it with malice of forethought.

I like both

I’m equally fond of cool cats as I am to dogs

Poorly disciplined large dogs are a pain in the ass

cat people prefer George Harrison.

Oh nonsense. They prefer Ringo Starr, not the impostor Ringo we all know, but the original Ringo.

Cat people are more likely to live alone and in apartments than dog people.

That is because in 98% of apartments dogs are a total no.

About 35% allow cats.

Most people who live in apartments live alone.

So it would follow.
