Apple Inc. shares ticked higher in aftermarket trading after the company posted record quarterly results for its holiday quarter Tuesday afternoon while easily topping expectations.

The star of the quarter was the iPhone, as revenue for the category exceeded the FactSet consensus by more than $4 billion. Apple AAPL, +1.75% also saw strong performance once again from its wearables, home and accessories category, with revenue up 37% to $10.01 billion, another beat relative to the consensus view.

I just replaced my phone for the first time in around five years. I got an LG V30 for $160 on Amazon (AT&T version).

I’m finding that for us old guys, keeping a couple of years behind the bleeding edge saves hundreds if not close to a thousand on one’s phone.

This thing is leaps and bounds better than my old LG G4, though the camera’s about the same...and one of the best around.

And no, I don’t do apple. To bleeping proprietary.

I bet those Apple execs are happy now that they listened to PDJT and moved some of their manufacturing out of china. Chicoms shut down Foxconn due to the coronavirus snafu. Apple can simply move more manufacturing locally and breath a sigh of relief.

I’ve been pondering spending YUGE money on a new Mac.

I’ve been in the other camp since the beginning, but Microsoft has made me rethink our relationship too many times in recent years.

Maybe it’s time for a divorce.

Are you trying to start an internet FAKE NEWS rumor? I cannot find anything about such a report in on the Internet. I assure you that Apple would not be up almost $9 today if that were at all true.

I got a current iMac from Apple Refurbished and saved a lot of money. You get what you pay for when you buy new. On the high end, there is no MS box that equates to the new Mac Pro at any price.

$22 Billion in net profits in just one quarter is just nuts. Awesome.

Thanks for the tip about Apple Refurbished. Good to know.

I’ve always been impressed by the tech and innovation of Apple products, but it took Job’s passing to get me to buy an iPhone and an iPad.

I guess I’m already wet now. I might as well jump in the pool and get “the good stuff”.

If they truly are as robust and as solidly made as I read, it’ll be worth it.
