Somehow I can't picture a stoned and obese Willie Nelson singing On The Road Again........LOL!
“Cedar Bark? Aint never heard of that one”
Me neither. But I do remember my uncle telling me that back in the twenties and thirties they were smoking corn silk.
And then there is those Indian cinnamon cigarettes...
But it’s all superheated smoke going down your lungs. That just can’t be good for you.
He probably still owes the IRS $$$. They let him tour just so they could get paid...dumba$$! The only job Willie ever had was “working” for the IRS!LOL
It was the Bourbon Willie.
Never with Willie,
Ha!
Better late than never. Took me 70yrs to realize that.
The truth is that it contains carcinogens, but has a net positive effect regarding lung cancer.
https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/large-study-finds-no-link/
The smoke from burning marijuana leaves contains several known carcinogens and the tar it creates contains 50 percent more of some of the chemicals linked to lung cancer than tobacco smoke. A marijuana cigarette also deposits four times as much of that tar as an equivalent tobacco one. Scientists were therefore surprised to learn that a study of more than 2,000 people found no increase in the risk of developing lung cancer for marijuana smokers.(I say net positive effect since the study also found that those who smoked both pot and cigarettes had a lower lung cancer probability than those who only smoked cigarettes.)
Just like any smoke, it does some damage to the lungs. Evidently not too much if someone like Willy (who was also a heavy cigarette smoker) makes it to the ripe old age of 86 with no serious problems. Moderation also goes a long way, I'm sure.
Regardless, compared to cigarette smoke in particular, marijuana smoke appears relatively benign.
Its funny
If you inhale pot and blow into a tshirt or cloth you get a big dense stain
If you do the same with a ciggie you get very little
I dont think its the pardon the expression ....carbon print
Its more whats in it
I know weed smokers 75-80 years old....daily smokers with zero ill effects from it breathing wise
Whereas few cigarette smokers at that age are not completely rurnt from smoking or long dead
Its purely observational but boy is the evidence overwhelming
I quit reds at age 33, Im 62 now and would be dead without having quit no question
My maternal grandma quit at aged 68 and lived to 89
Its a trade off
Enjoy smoking and die younger likely from suffocation
Or dont smoke and live longer
Better to smoke cigars in moderation maybe ...something safer
pervert
Having never smoked, it’s easy to say one should never start. My sister who had the aneurysms stopped cold-turkey, and never smoked again. But it didn’t do her any good anyway since she died from lung cancer anyway. I’m surprised I never even tried it seeing as everyone else in my family smoked. I couldn’t stand the smell, and especially hated the sight of dirty ashtrays, and the smell that came from them. I sang in the choir when I was in grammar school (in the early 50’s). I always knew my mother was in the audience when I heard her cough. What a way to recognize your mother in a crowd? My parents smoked Camels their whole lives. The rest of them smoked filtered cigarettes.
He is only 86. He best drink milk and eat salads or he won’t see 87.
Nothing will stop him from eating those brownies.
I am very sorry to hear that. I will pray for you and will be thinking of you.
It was starting to affect his appearance, too.
