A deadly winter storm that pummeled the West Coast and northern Midwest as millions of travelers returned home from their Thanksgiving holiday is taking aim at the Northeast and likely to cause further flight cancellations and delays.

The storm, which for days has been dumping heavy snow from parts of California to the northern Midwest and inundating other areas with heavy rain, has been responsible for several deaths, according to reports.

The National Weather Service (NWS) predicted more than a foot of snow in parts of upstate New York and the New England region, as well as ice accumulations in parts of Pennsylvania.

They really played that up here in NJ, but much of the state (the eastern half with the most people) is primarily looking at a rain event.

I’ve got close to a foot in MA. I expect snow to continue well into Tuesday. It’s a bit early in the year for this.

Truthfully, when I was a kid I never experienced storms like this in New England..

I didn’t live there.

Can't use the snow blower, have to hack my way to the chicken coop this morning.
I need to move to a Red state....

...was born and raised in true upstate New York (north of Albany, not the Westchester County brand of “upstate” NY)... saw many a major snow storm back then..no more.... it hit a record-setting 87 degrees here in central Texas on Saturday...y’all come on down...!! (S-N-O-W - a true four-letter word....)

What a bunch of ninnies. The MSM thinks the entire world is supposed to wait with baited breath whenever NYC gets some snow.

I'm in Rochester and late yesterday we had over an inch of freezing rain, sleet and hail. Too heavy to shovel.
Overnight we had 6 inches of snow and 3 more on the way.
I was out "dancing" with the snowblower at 6am. Bah, humbug.

Climate change is bs.

This is the same stuff we always get in New England.

I want some global warming and I want it now!

(Will protesting help? ;-) )

We had quite a bit of sleet and ice pellets yesterday and are currently getting snow.

Everything is covered with about 1/10th and inch of ice with snow on top and absolutely EVERYTHING is shut down. No schools, no libraries open, town offices closed. It’s VERY quiet outside right now.

Here in southern NH we received 8-14” depending on local. About 9” at my house. It stayed around 28-30 degrees. It is very slick/slippery snow though. My plow guy plowed last night around 8pm and again around 6:30 this morning.
However, when I left the garage, I slid down the my paved driveway in 4WD low with the antilock brakes on the whole way, right out into the road at the bottom of the driveway. Fortunately, no one was coming. All schools are cancelled.
The Monadnock region of the state got the most snow. Over a foot there.

We are supposed to get another 4-8” tonight.

I want some global warming and I want it now!

The grand solar minimum is predicted to start in 2020 and last for several decades (think 2050 before it starts warming up again). Grand solar minimum statistical analysis shows it's the sun that is the main contributor to climate "change", NOT CO2 as the alarmist liars contend.

The graph shows anyone who stayed awake in high school level math for even a few minutes that temperatures have been cooling for years AND that the hottest temperatures recorded in the US were the 1930's, NOT recent years as the MSM broadcast and the climate alarmists lie about.

YOUR first hint about the following graph is that the adjusted temperatures are NOW above measured temperatures but before 2000, the adjusted temperatures were BELOW the measured temperatures.

What ALL OF THIS MEANS is that the alarmists are lying about MEASURED TEMPERATURES and they are ADJUSTING tempertures to be consistent with the carbon models. For decades, the climate liars have been predicting no snow, no arctic ice.... but they are ALWAYS wrong with their Domesday predictions. To correct reality, the liars simply generate by computer ADJUSTED TEMPERATURES that tell the story they want to tell.

Gosh, July, August, September... were record hot temperatures they say. But NO, measured temperatures were NOT records.

Think of adjusted temperatures as the astronomical equivalent of dark energy and dark matter. When observations do NOT fit calculated models for their "theories", they invent fudge factors that make it all plausible. Yep, everything in the universe was crammed into a point and it just exploded and has been expanding at an increasing rate ever since. And the explanation is... Measured temperatures are getting cooler but climate CO2 models show everything is getting warmer. Adjusted temperatures solve that problem, and the neat thing is the majority of people are stupid enough to believe it!

“Everything is covered with about 1/10th and inch of ice with snow on top and absolutely EVERYTHING is shut down.”

We have different customs here in CO. When it gets really bad like that, transplants from California get in their SUV’s and drive 50 mph, angry that the natives are interfering in their important business by creeping along at 15-20 mph or staying home. It’s a regular ritual.

Of course, the schools declare a snow day with any excuse whatsoever.

Around here, it’s SUV owners who think they are invincible because they have four wheel drive and all season radials.

I’ve seen them blasting by people on the interstate, only to see the vehicle in the median a few miles up the road. There’s a lot of satisfaction in that.

In the meantime, it’s time to go dig out.

*sigh*
