2ndDivisionVet has passed away

I received word from 2ndDivisionVet wife that he passed away.

I am not using his real name here out of respect but, will ping his handle and his wife can if she would like.

I didn't ask what he died from but, knowing him for better than 10 years, I knew of medical conditions and a few terrible Operations he had.

He was a wonderful human being who cared deeply for his fellow Americans and the ideals that make this country so great that people the world over want to come here and be free, live in liberty and be whoever they want

If you have ever spoke with 2ndDivisionVet, you know he was quick witted and wry.

What had always amazed me about him was not just his humor but, his ability to somehow take life in stride despite all he endured and be cheerfull.

He was amazingly resourceful in scouring the web for article we might find interesting.

Yes, 2ndDivisionVet really cared about all of us and our presence in his life gave him purpose

I really wish God had let him stay but, my thoughts are more selfish than the absolute knowledge that he is in a better place.

I hope to see him again one day.

Rest in peace and smile down on us 2ndDivisionVet

I just returned from the Veterans Day assembly at my son’s highschool. There were fewer vets present than last year. And fewer now on FreeRepublic. RIP 2ndDiv. And may God’s grace and comfort cover his family and provide strength and peace in the days, weeks and months to come.

I'm so sorry to hear this sad news.

His presence on Free Republic will be sorely missed. He posted so many informative articles, and always had thought provoking opinions.

This is very sad news. 2nd Div was a high profile freeper and I’ve read his messages for many years. I would like to thank his family for sharing his time and wit with us for so many years. He was a Military Aide in the White House when Ronald Reagan was President. 2ndDivisionVet once mentioned President Reagan and he had many late night discussions about various subjects over the years.
