Archaeologists have reconstructed the weathered face of a balding, middle-age man suffering from back trouble and severe dental disease. He died more than 600 years ago and was buried in Aberdeen, Scotland.
Using facial reconstruction technology, researchers crafted a digital model that offered a glimpse of the man known by researchers as "Skeleton 125," or "SK125" showing what he may have looked like in life, Aberdeen City Council representatives said in a statement.
The result reveals the 46-year-old man's face, with blue eyes that are set close together and a jaw that is missing many of its teeth. The skull's condition indicated years of serious tooth and gum problems, which led to tooth loss, a chronic abscess and cavities, according to the statement.

I just got back from Scotland and didn’t see anyone even close to Sam Heughan. He must be an exception. ;)
Must have been MY ANCESTOR!........................
I live in Florida.
We don’t have beautiful bikini clad women walking down the beaches at sunset like the tourist adverts show, either.............
His direct ancestor has inherited these traits and now chairs the House Judiciary Committee. I sure of it! It’s an undeniable fact!! Check the DNA!
You know Sam Heughan is gay, right?
My teeth are perfectly fine!
Nice to meet another Outlander fan! But I prefer the books, and my own version of Jamie. I thought the 600 year old man might have resembled Colum MacKenzie :)
Uncle Pete!!
Where you been?
They think written words are even more powerful, whispered the toad. They think all writing is magic. Words worry them. See their swords? They glow blue in the presence of lawyers.
― Terry Pratchett, The Wee Free Men
Would blend in seamlessly today.
I’m not that big of an Outlander fan. I binged it before I went to Scotland since I knew it was filmed there. I just think Sam Heughan is a hottie.
Our trip was to Edinburgh, Inverness, and Glasgow. While we were in Inverness our itinerary was a Loch Ness cruise, Cawdor Castle, and Culloden. Well I got sick. Had a horrible head cold and spent 2 days in our hotel bed. Found out later the day we were going to go to Cawdor Castle Sam Heughan and the guy that played Dougal was there. Darn!
We also had Vin Diesel filming the new Fast and Furious on the street behind our hotel in Edinburgh. Security stopped our sneaking in to see him too! lol
I think I’ve seen him sitting in soccer crowds on NBCSN.
I saw short and balding, and thought for sure there would be a Costanza pic.

He's 46? Gee....I thought 52.
His skull is what it is, he was an odd looking dude. But come on, they could have at least let him have a full mane of flowing yet manly hair. It’s like they hold some sort of grudge against this dude and wanted to make him look as goofy as possible.
Two eyes, two ears, one nose and a mouth....yup....that’s him.
