They have the right to kneel, I have the right not to watch.
I was a life long Saints fan.
I don’t care about football at all anymore.
Not even college.
I haven’t completely kicked the NFL habit. But watching is down about 90%.
Before the start of every NFL game that is on my TV, I take a knee. I say a prayer and then promptly change the channel.
Im waiting for my Nike deal, but so far nothing has come through.
Monday night(Green Bay vs. Detroit) I was at Buffalo Wild Wings and the place was dead.
Struck up a good conversation with a fellow Trump supporter though.
We were the last ones out of there(after midnight) and didn’t even notice how the game ended.
I skimmed it and no mention of taking the knee. That’s what drove me away. I heard recently they don’t do that anymore? IDK. They lost me.
This is exactly what NASCAR did in the 1990’s and early 2000’s. Changed to rules one by one to favor their chosen personalities.
I haven’t watched a NASCAR race in over 15 years. I haven’t watched the NFL since Crapernick started his trash and am unlikely to return.
It’s running on fantasy football, which is quite a lot of fun for a fan if you get into a good league. I’m not playing fantasy football this year, and my interest is way down. Last weekend was particularly bad. None of the matchups held my interest at all. The off the field stuff was bad enough, but now the product on the field is suffering, too.
The article touches on one of my favorite conspiracy theories—organized crime gamblers fixing sports games.
We really haven’t heard of any examples in the history of the NFL.
Is that really possible?
I find it hard to believe.
The NFL spends a lot of resources doing damage control on public relations messes. I am almost certain there are a bunch of fixed game gambling skeletons in that closet.
Of course I don’t watch because the NFL went woke—and I hope they now go broke.
It may be disclosure of a gambling scandal that finally puts the nail on the zombie coffin.
I still watch the NFL from time to time. The long term futility of the Browns, the crappy ownership of the Browns, (which is still in place), and the items stated above, (lots of penalties, no clear cut rules, QBs are untouchable), have soured me on the NFL.
For now, college football, almost any college game, even a blowout, is more entertaining.
All forms of entertainment are in decline as segmentation rears its’ head. There are simply a lot of entertainment options out there today.
Money, money, money
I used to be able to watch a 1 PM game and be done by 3:45 pm. Now its not over until 4:20. That time is ALL taken up with adverts. I just can’t stand it any longer.
It seems whenever I tune into a game, every other play is either reviewed or a penalty is called. There is no flow to the game. And yes it is destroying the game as watchable.
Step 1: Mass purge of black thugs, gang-bangers, and woman beaters.
Step 2: Recruit clean-cut, motivated young ballplayers, mostly white. Blacks who aspire to emulate gentleman athletes from the old days — like Gale Sayers, John Mackey, or Paul Warfield — will also be more than welcome.
Problem solved.
I used to enjoy wasting a couple hours on a chilly Sunday afternoon watching football. I haven’t watched a down in two years now and don’t miss it a bit. It’s amazing how quickly old habits die.
Back in the 80’s the Redskins/Cowboys games were Holy Wars.
Now they are both blah, with the Redskins in particular having been mismanaged into the ground.
It’s just damn boring.
Why watch the game anyway when you can see 10 minutes of highlights on YouTube?
It was good. I used to live and die with the Green Bay Packers. I don’t care. I don’t watch. The NFL sucks. It’s a wretched product.
And he forgot the damnable “holiday’ ads every December to blot out Christmas.
What is NFL?
Well they are still far more professional than the LFL...but for some reason I like watching the LFL better.
