The Princess Bride is a classic film, a national treasure that should be handed down through the ages, but according to Variety Sony is talking about a Princess Bride remake. My head nearly exploded when I heard this. Here is my rant.

Exactly! The Princess will likely be a minority transgender with the oppressive King still being a White male of course. The Spaniard will be a Hispanic, and since there is already lots of border jumping in their travels, the topic of immigration and how now person can be “illegal” will be spread throughout the dialogue.
The original was a great movie, so no need to go see this one.

Films are so expensive and banks are so conservative, that it’s probably easier to get financing for the remake of a successful film than it is for some new script.

Remaking “The Princess Bride” would mean that they have fallen victim to one of the classic blunders! The most famous of which are “never get involved in a land war in Asia, and never ever go in against a Sicilian when DEATH is on the line.
