Gavin Newsom says it is inexplicable that a weapon “of godd—ned mass destruction” was used over the weekend during the Gilroy Garlic Festival mass shooting.
The Democrat told a Santa Clara audience that a semi-automatic rifle that Santino William Legan, 19, used to kill three and wound 12 others exists in the U.S., in large part, because of “completely bankrupt” Republican lawmakers.
“You can’t put borders up, speaking of borders, to a neighboring state where you can buy this damn stuff legally,” he said Monday at a local medical center, the Los Angeles Times reported. “How in the hell is that possible? I have no problem with the 2nd Amendment, you have a right to bear arms but not weapons of godd—ned mass destruction.”
The weapon used by the gunman, who was fatally shot by police on the scene, was described by authorities as an “AK-47 variant.”

Rather ironic that a man who wants no border between his state and a third world country, wants a border between his state and other states in his own country.
The Constitution guarantees Americans the right of free passage in this country. Of course for Gavin Newsom the Constitution is nothing but an obstacle.
By the way a previous administration or two has contemplated setting up border controls between states, papers please.

California will be saved by invoking the 1867-68 Reconstruction Act. It begins by appointing a military governor and troops and declaring California in insurrection. And there isn’t squat that the commie wimp Newsome can do about it.

Newsome is obviously contemplating a future POTUS run, thus his positions on health care for illegal entrants mirrors that of the Democratic primary voter, sanctuary cities, etc.
But he also knows he can’t be straight up anti 2A. So he has to walk this crazy line that makes no sense at all. Borders between states, but not between countries? Penalties for bringing legally purchased items into the state, but state subsidies for illegal actions. There is no principle, just politics.
