Independent Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders appeared to back off his support of the 1994 crime bill that he voted for more than two decades ago. Sanders appeared Sunday on CNNs State of the Union, hosted by Jake Tapper. Tapper questioned Sanders on his past support for the 1994 crime bill, legislation criticized for sparking an era of "mass incarceration" among minority communities. Former Vice President Joe Biden authored the crime bill and has defended it as he campaigns against Sanders and others to challenge President Trump in 2020.

He feels bad about getting criminals off the streets.
Figures.
“an era of “mass incarceration” among minority communities.”
...yep. Anywhere there’s a “minority community”, we want a “mass incarceration”. ~sarc
Seems that one thing all the libodem contestants have in common is they aren’t happy. They’ll never actually be happy regardless if they get their way or not. ‘Everything is not enough.’
Biden was sucking up to the Clintons. Then-Pres Bill Clinton's 1994 crime bill demanded:
<><> stiffer penalties for inner city criminals,
<><> mass incarcerations of minorities,
<><> It encouraged and for the first time the US had a federal three-strikes and you're out law,
<><> It funded the building of more prisons in the states.....
Then-First Lady Hillary took to the mic to burnish her ambitions, and stupidly called the black criminals "super-predators."
"We have to bring them to heel," Hillary insisted.
Black protesters showed up at her 2016 campaign events, reminding her of her choice of words to describe them.
Bernie Sanders defines the term “ignorant”.
He is the baseline from which all intelligence is judged.
Oops, he and Occasional Cortex are the baselines.....
And, as is for both, the really stupid ones go into politics.
Bet hes even less happy about calling Baltimore a third word disgrace back in 2015.
I have seen it said that this bill was supported by many members of the black leaders/clergy because of the problems crack cocaine was causing in inner-city black communities. I have not been able to back this up. If someone has some time and a Lexis/Nexis account, this might be worth some time.
Pinhead morons like BS want to have it both ways; and the sad part is that his moronic followers swallow this hook, line and sinker. Sounds like JF'ng Kerry "he was for it, before he was against it".
Staying out of prison is very easy no matter what color you are.
Race has nothing to do with it.

He’s lying. He voted for it to KEEP HIS JOB, and he knows it.
What is “Bernie”,
For one hundred,
Please.
Bernie along with Nadler, Lewis, Waters, also voted against the Protect Act, Amber Alert. They put pedophiles ahead of children. They lost 400 - 25.

.
Those conducting the witch hunt against Trump looked the other way to protect the likes of Epstein, they did this as part of their official duties.
Heck! Most people alive today don’t even know what that bill is about or that it even exists. People who were 50 back then are 75 now and don’t give a hoot, anyway.
Just remember Democrats don’t flip flop, they evolve.

...only a few years in the past, Sen. Bernie Sanders a candidate searching for the Democratic Get togethers 2020 presidential nomination took his personal pictures at Baltimore, a struggling Northeast metropolis grappling with excessive charges of violent crime, drug abuse, poverty and political corruption. Anyone who took the walk that we took around this neighborhood would not think youre in a wealthy nation, Sanders stated throughout a go to to towns West Baltimore part in December 2015, the Baltimore Solar reported. You would think that you were in a Third World country.
I'm waiting for Chris Wallace to be 'oh so shocked and outraged' about this... waiting ...waiting... waiting...
