If you don’t pay any taxes, then no increase for you.
But, your parents upstairs will pay more.

Quality aside this might be true.

Who cares? US Government has absolutely NO Constitutional authority to provide "health care for all".

I'd like to see the numbers.

You really care what fake, dishonest, lying, prevaricating "numbers" that Marxist scumbag Bernie Sanders pukes up?

49% pay no federal income tax, vote for “free stuff” candidates, and could give a shiff if the foolish taxpayers pay more.

Why is it NOBODY wants to talk about the total price tag and who pays...and how much?

I’m somebody that under the proper circumstances could support “Universal Care”, but I think we have that essentially now. We’re close.

But to propose universal care without a price tag...or a specific bill based on income is derelict.

Only the insane and the poor would agree to that.

Have you seem the numbers? I have not. Take all the premiums, co pays, deductibles, profit margin etc. paid by private and public subscribers. It is a huge number. That number would becomes taxes but the out of pocket may be the same.

All I am saying is I want to see the numbers.

Every law enacted is assumed Constitutional until proven otherwise.

Every law enacted is assumed

By whom? The Deep State? The tooth fairy?

If such authority actually exists, cite it. Since you can't, you're really admitting that the Congress indeed has no authority to provide "health care for all", but is perfectly capable of seizing the power to do so with the connivance of a corrupt president and corrupt courts.

You have no idea how the Constitution (USC) works. There is no requirement in the USC that pending laws passed by Congress go through judicial review. ( I wish that WAS in the USC, but it is not )

Congress can pass universal health care and POTUS can sign it into law. It's Constitutionality would be challenged in court for sure but they could do still do it. With these judges it would probably pass Constitutional muster.

He’s been promising tax increases all along.

At least he’s not hiding his agenda.

You have no idea how the Constitution (USC) works.

That sort of comment signals the end of rational discussion.

Congress can pass universal health care and POTUS can sign it into law.

Because Congress and most Presidents see the Constitution as an obstacle to be dodged in their quest for power, not as an outline of their legitimate authority.

It's Constitutionality would be challenged in court for sure but they could do still do it.

History shows that such challenges are frequently thrown out of court for "lack of standing".

With these judges it would probably pass Constitutional muster.

You admit, then, that the Constitution has no objective meaning. It only means what judges say it means.

Once again, if there were any actual Constitutional authority for Congress to provide "health care for all", you would cite it. You don't, because you can't. It doesn't exist.

Listen you don’t get it. To make a universal health care unconstitutional you’d have to pass amendment making it so. The other option in lieu of amendment is to litigate it’s Constitutionality in court. THAT IS THE SYSTEM AS DESIGNED.

Listen you don’t get it

WRONG. You're the one who doesn't get it.

To make a universal health care unconstitutional you’d have to pass amendment making it so.

WRONG again. That's exactly backwards. If you want to give Congress the authority to pass "healthcare for all", authority which it currently lacks, you need to pass an amendment. Until then, pound sand.

The Constitution is intended to strictly limit the authority of the government. Any authority or power not specifically granted to the central government is reserved to the States or to the People. THAT IS THE SYSTEM AS DESIGNED.

Once again, if you believe that the Congress has the authority to pass "health care for all", cite the provision of the Constitution granting it such authority.

You won't.

You can't.

IT DOESN'T EXIST.

Congress is perfectly capable of seizing power … that is not the behavior of the legislative branch of a Constitutional Republic. It's the behavior of an out-of-control tyranny.

But, unfortunately, not as practiced. George W Bush finished off decades of states losing power with his insistence on pushing Gonzales v Raich.

As Justice Thomas said in dissent, the ruling gives the federal government power to regulate anything it pleases, right down to church suppers.

The decision blew down the remaining barriers and destroyed the Republic.

Welcome to the Nation State, citizen.
