A series of tracks created roughly 14,000 years ago has revealed stunning new insight into the ways ancient humans explored dark, potentially treacherous cave systems during the Stone Age.
Researchers say at least 180 hand and footprints line the clay-rich floor of Italys cave of Bàsura in the famous Toirano caves, indicating ancient humans crawled barelegged through low tunnels as they searched for food and even explored for fun.
The group that left behind these tracks thousands of years ago included a total of five individuals, from adults to children as young as 3 years old, who navigated the dark pathways using wooden sticks as torches.

Stone Age families crawled on hand and foot through dark caves for FUN carrying wooden torches 14,000 years ago, new study suggests
Ping.
Well, I would guess there wasnt much else to do. Other than just, I dont know... survive.
"We no invent beer yet, Gronk"
"How 'bout shoot rats at dump?"
"We no invent gun. Dump at back of cave - shoot eye out if did."
"Dance with women?"
"Mongo only know same tune on bird bone flute. Beside, derivative of composer Gorgo the Neanderthal, who also make same two notes. Again and again."
"What we do for fun then?"
"I know, crawl through hole at back of cave. Bat dung smell good!"
The footprints had the imprints of Croc footwear.
Maybe that explains the After-Party artwork?
Thanks rdl6989.
How do they know it was 14,000 years ago?

crawled on hand and foot through dark caves for FUN
That’s why we did it~!
I should tell DH to pretend he’s a caveman. He freaks out every time he has to go into the crawlspace — “the creepiest place ever”, according to him.
Just HOW do they know they were doing this for amusement? Was the local boardwalk shut down for repairs? Too early in the year for the water park to open?
How do they know it was for fun? Maybe the kids were being punished.
