CONCORD, Calif. (KGO) -- It appears, at this point, a controversial plan to build an immigrant detention center at the former Naval Weapons Station in Concord is not moving forward. The news came just as the city council there was starting an emergency meeting on the issue.

"There will be no relocation camps in Concord or California," announced Guy Bjerke, Concord's Director of Community Reuse Planning, to open the meeting. "Just a few moments ago, Congressman Mark DeSaulnier called the city manager and further informed us he has informal confirmation that there is no intention of establishing detention facilities in Concord or in California."

The emergency meeting continued with dozens of speakers coming to the podium. "We need to keep this out of the hands of Donald Trump and the federal government," said Lamar Anderson.

They panicked, called an emergency council meeting when they thought a former Naval Weapons Station in Concord, California would be used to house illegal immigrants.

This liberal laden city did not want it in their city. It was never a possibility as the story details but they so did not want any illegal immigrants they went full tilt at the possibility of it happening.

Sounds like a perfect place to put them.
CA is full of no longer used military facilities.
Since it’s already full of illegal aliens, ship them all to CA.

Concord used to be the blue collar bleachers of the bay area, but is now crawling with illegals. The area around Monument blvd looks like little mexico.

Camps?

Oh hell no.

Just dump them there and send a truck around to give them an debt card on the first and fifteenth only if they are physically present and match biometric ID.

Let the municipality figure out how to house them.

I vote for this city to get thousands of welcomed guests, all at city expense.

“”We need to keep this out of the hands of Donald Trump and the federal government,””

“Out of the hands of Donald Trump”?? I’m tired of the disrespect shown to the president of the United States by its own citizens. They spit out his name like it’s “Manson” or “Ted Bundy.” I expect that they would prefer being associated with either of them (dead or alive) than President Trump.

Illegals sure can’t hurt the Bay Area. Restore Alcatraz or Treasure Island or the Presidio. Are the latter two being used?
