Record $120 billion sent home to 3 top nations flooding US with illegal immigrants

Immigrants from the three Central American nation’s sourcing many illegal border crossers sent a record amount of money home last year, bringing the total this decade to $120 billion.

Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador all said that natives in the United States sent over $17 billion home last year alone.

Since 2009, legal and illegal immigrants from those three nations have shipped $120 billion home, according to an immigration expert citing United Nations and Latin American banking data.

And newly released Central American bank data said that the record breaking has continued this year.

The so-called “remittances” have been in the focus of some immigration reform advocates who want to tax the transfers. Proponents said that a tax on the money, some of which is collected under the table and outside payroll taxes, could help pay for President Trump’s proposed border wall with Mexico.

Don't tax remittances, it's un-American. There are plenty of Americans we can tax. If Americans can afford to support the illegals when they get here, we can certainly afford not to tax their remittances.

What puzzles me, I'm assured illegals don't break the law. They're really migrants, not illegals. They don't go on welfare, that would be a crime. They don't work while they're here, that would be a crime. They don't commit crimes, that would be a crime. So there must not be any money from illegals in those remittances. They're all from legal immigrants. That, or their supporters lie about them. Because other than the occasional lottery winner or rich migrant, they can't send funds home without acquiring it illegally in the US.

It’s all the Welfare, Social Security and Refundable Tax Credit for people with children who paid no taxes in to the government.

I think many struggling nations do not permit locally acquired wealth to be exported. Some countries do not even allow people to exit with more than pocket change currency in one's possession.

As I recall, for a person in the nation India could not bring in a foreign auto without paying a huge import tax on it to offset the cost of it being credited to the manufacturer's account in the country of origin.

What we ought to do is arrest these unlawful invaders and force them to pay a large exit fee (or work it out) before we throw them out; incarcerating them until the fee is paid, the cost of shipping them to their native country being added to that fee, as well as charging for food and cell rent. The matter could be settled by their home country paying these costs and fees in cash, gold or silver.

Apply a 20% "service fee" to fund the wall.

Obama used the BILLIONS in bank fines for his Dem slush funds, without congressional oversight.

Many years ago, remittances to Mexico was second only to oil in their GNP. Bet it’s #1 today.

Those billions would have paid for a very nice wide and high border wall.

Ever wonder why illegals live forty to a house. Its so they can pay next to nothing and collect massive amounts of welfare and food stamps. Then they send home as much money as possible to their home country. The country they love and care about. These are not immigrants. They are thieves and robbers of our fortunes and the democrats are engaged in an ongoing criminal conspiracy to help them.
