An older article I recently came across. It is a pretty spot on piece about what is arguably the most dislikable fictional character ever created. For me, she almost made Breaking Bad unwatchable. But I did push through.

She seemed quite sane to me. She was doing her best to make the best of a very bad situation. She was even more clever than Saul Goodman who was already very clever.

she wasn’t that bad. she even sprayed the piles of money for silverfish. Yes, she had the affair with that weasel Ted. That was wrong.
Her sister was terribly annoying, though.

She developed into a pretty good crook herself. I think that she was a very good character and well played.

Loathed her at first but I've since revisited Skyler White. It was essential that Walter had someone in his life to remind him that he had become a scumbag drug dealer and this wasn't cool.

Often these people, such as Skyler White, aren't likable because they're ruining the fantasy.

This author is an idiot. Has he even watched the show? Does he not know that Skyler has a disabled child which takes a terrible emotional toil on a person? Does this idiot not know that throughout much of the series Skyler was pregnant? And pregnancy causes crazy hormonal changes to women.

There are lots of reasons that Skyler is not always nice. But for someone to hate her like this? I really don’t think he understands the nature of the show. What an idiot.

The fact you were annoyed by her character shows she was doing a great job acting, as did everyone on that show. That she gets slowly sucked into the ever growing criminal activity, as does Walt, is what makes the show a very good drama. Still one of *the* best show endings.

I didn't mind Skyler all that much. I thought she was well played by Anna Gunn. It was her sister, Marie, that drove me crazy. I just cannot stand busybodies like her.

Jessica Walter played the antagonist in Play Misty for Me and she did such a good job, the theater audience cheered when she got it in the end. Now that's acting...

I couldn't stand her. The points the author make are spot on with the character. Also, she just wasn't my type on looks. This as opposed to my wife who is slender, tan and has long black hair down to her hips at times - and is an incredibly amazing partner in everything. Today we are supposed to go out to look for new clothes but it's a feeling like I'm going to Disney World because I get to spend the day with her.

I started binge watching "The Americans" About a deep cover KGB couple posing as married Americans.

Not sympathetic characters but I found myself hoping they don't get caught when the FBI was closing in.

Totally. She was only useful in the final episode where we had to kind of pretend Walt loved her for a good reason so the whole story finished in its perfect arc.

Most of us wanted her dead the whole time.
