Years ago, I owned a rental house in the Detroit ghetto. A friend of my crackhead tenant stole a five gallon bucket of paint we had locked up in the basement.
He said he borrowed it to paint his mother’s house. (Not quite sure how one goes about borrowing paint)
He then proceeded to blame me for not having the bucket lid tightened for it fell over in the back of his brand new car.
I laughed too hard to be mad about the paint.
As has already been pointed out on the other thread that was posted yesterday, booby traps are illegal, and particularly, glitter will destroy a person's eyes if it makes contact with them.
Over a f'n blender or whatever?
Don't do the crime if you can't do the time.
And the lawyers would line up to sue!
LOL, I DID watch, that was my point. I loved the fact that he put the address of the house in the movie “Home Alone” on it...too funny!
I meant that, if the criminals had ever seen the movie, they would think...”Why is that familiar...?”
What’s amazing to me is how prosperous the thieves seemed to be. They drove nice cars, and had nice surroundings in their homes. The seemed to me to be millennials. Maybe it was their Mom’s homes.
I can just see the defense lawyer (funded with a GoFundMe which has been donated to by people who have had their packages stolen) pacing up and down in front of a jury saying to them "How many of you have had your package stolen from your property in front of your house?" There is no recourse for people. If your package gets stolen, you are SOL. It is like having your credit card hacked. Nobody tries to find or punish the criminals. I know, I have been through it a few times. On a separate note, that site linked is one of the most disgustingly Leftist sites I have ever seen. Ugh.
“Oh, but these people were driven to that thievery because they can’t pay for food and clothes for their kids because of the Trump policies/Republicans/Capitalists/YouNameIt...”
Yeah. These people, driving nice cars, steal because they are greedy, it is safe, and they are stupid.
Guys’ a freakin’ genius. The tracking device was exceptioanlly bright idea.
Even with video evidence, the cops won’t do anything.
Video evidence, but it isn’t worth the cops’ time.
What good are they?
“And the lawyers would line up to sue!”
Yeah, most states (at least mine) have laws about boobytrapping your home.
Seems to me that boobytrap laws would apply here. If you rig a shotgun to your back door then somebody breaks in and gets shot. You have a hard time proving that your life was in danger.
In this case if this thing goes off and somebody is hurt driving off the road, I'm sure that some lawyer can twist the facts to put you in a world of hurt.
I did enjoy the video though.
Just please, don't yuk it up like it's a big funny thing to do in the presence of impressionable people who might have just had a toaster or a cordless drill stolen. :)
> They now know where you live. Be prepared for broken windows, keyed car doors, or worse. <
Yep. That’s just the way life works.
Guy I know owns an apartment building. One night some neighborhood kids sprayed graffiti on the back of his building. He found out who those kids were, and complained to their parents.
Next night, all of the basement windows in back of his building were broken. And there was not enough evidence for any arrests.
Will turn around and sue because they were scared when it went off.
That was enjoyable. I saw suggestions to add paint or itching powder. If I were so inclined, I’d set a trigger that delivers a shotgun blast to their knees before they even left the property.
Believe it or not, in some jurisdictions, if the thieves get injured/maimed from this, the residence owner could be in trouble. However, I would rather see them blown to bits.
Should have rigged the phone to play a”Merry Christmas, you filthy animal” wav file. That would have put it over there top!
I get it, but the other poster and I were talking about overkill. The guy spent six months engineering that thing. It was a little much. It’s not something that could be done by a layman.
