Just heard Rush Limbaugh's morning update. He said due to Apple CEO's anti free speech "sermon", his cooperation with Apple is over.
They arent just USBC ports. They are double duty USB-C and Thunderbolt 3 ports depending on whether you plug in a USB Device or a Thunderbolt device. . . The port controller senses the difference.
Maybe you can actually try thinking sometime instead of simply throwing out insults at people you don’t know.
And this means little when you are trying to do work, and need another dongle...
Apple effed up the MacBook Pro in 2016 and their sales dropped and flatlined since...
Stupid useless form factor...
Oooo look we do something faster on a port type no one ships with and 99% of the installed base dont use
When was the last time you needed a dongle to be able to connect an external monitor? Have to back more than a decade for any laptop I owned that didnt have some sort of standard external video port... until the MacBook Pro 16
Ive never used Linux. Is there a certain version that is best for a beginner?
When is Cook going to retire?
Tim Cook is no Steve Jobs in many ways he has no vision OR imagination, he n9t only has come up with NOTHING new for the company he has DESTROYED half of his buying public with his total LIBERAL views!!! The price points on their products are out of reach for much of the public and I personally hope they DIE a very quick death!!! Their competitors products are just as good and FAR LESS expensive!!!!
There is no 1 best answer to that.
There are literally hundreds of distributions. There are probably 10 main branches to the tree of distributions. Many of the less well known are optimized versions derived from the best 10 or so.
Here is a pretty complete site listing most of them
Distributions (versions) https://www.linuxlinks.com/links/Distributions/
Software (applications, almost all free) https://www.linuxlinks.com/links/Software/
User groups USA (might be help locally) https://www.linuxlinks.com/links/UserGroups/North_America/United_States/
I’ve probably used 10-12 of them. Currently I’m using an XFCE (GUI) version of Debian. One of the more complete distributions.
Ubuntu Linux is very popular, it is a derivative of Debian.
Xubuntu is a XFCE (light GUI) version. I liked it a lot.
Most of the linux installers are easier to setup than Windows. It has not always been that easy but last 10 years made huge advances.
If you like, send me freep mail message and tell me what your area of interest in computers is. And whether you use a laptop or a desktop computer.
You do not have to have the newest and fastest computer to make linux work.

....we wont give a platform to violent conspiracy theorists on the app store....
Cook on Tucker now!
KMA.
Thanks Swordmaker.
Lol.. that was back when we had “IBM” and “IBM Clones” ... ;^)
That would... like, any part of you, right?
Rush is a little late to the party. This has been Apple’s stand for years.
I’ve just owned my last iphone too. I’m not supporting a totalitarian thug - not ever. Never. Never again.
