In a word..."mixed". There was alot of US House "dead" GOPe Wood cleared out last night chief among it was "Speaker" Ryan and his ilk. Let face it the loss of the House really SUX, BUT we HAVE to get to work NOW on the 2020 Election! Get REALLY good solid candidates recruited NOW. The Dems WILL overplay their hands(they ALWAYS do) and they WILL be dumped in 2020! Silver lining, WE OWN the Senate!

Republicans don’t know how to sell freedom. Everything good in this nation stems from freedom guided by personal responsibility developed by the teachings of Judao/Christianity. Facts are great. The economy is improving. Government power is being rolled back. Allies have been put on notice. Etc. All great stuff that appeals to the reason based mind. But we don’t appeal to the emotion based mind. We don’t sell freedom and we don’t sell dreams. IMHO this is what we need to add to our solid history of accomplishments to increase our share of the voting public.

Beloved FRiends, I’d like you to get in your comfy zone and relax...take some slow, deep breaths. Look in on your children as they sleep, and take in the peacefulness. Now, make yourself your favorite decaf coffee, calming tea or warm milk and a fresh donut, croissant, etc.

Relax into your recliner or couch, and round up your Bible. Open it to Isaiah 40:22-26, and read. Research anything you don’t understand online.

Just take those awesome Words in from Father God.
He Created all things.
He’s The Almighty God.
Sovereign Lord.
Lord of Hosts.
He is the I AM.

He’s in control. Not mankind, or anything it decides on its own to accomplish.
JESUS IS LORD.
Pray, and wait on Him.
It’s not over until HE says it’s over.
I love you all in Jesus Christ my Lord.

For now, the greatest loss is that Pelosi controls half of the investigation into the Clinton/Obama attempted coup. We can expect the House side of things to become useless on that front.

Overall, Paul Ryan deserves the lion’s share of the blame for losing the House. He chose to do nothing for the last two years - except for when he was actually sabotaging the President. His pathetic ‘leadership’ gave the GOP House candidates no platform of success to campaign upon.

Paul Ryan was one of those who quit at the last minute, 4/11/2018, though his seat was still held.

Ryan, as SUPPOSED leader of the party, stuck it in the R’s @$$e$, quitting so late.

REAL America might give you 50 to 55 -- and maybe even 60 -- U.S. Senate seats over the long term, but with House districts allocated by population you're likely to find that your approach is a losing proposition. You're going to write off a bunch of states that have about 60% of the country's population (and House districts).

How's Virginia doing, by the way? Looks like you lost the same number of GOP House seats (3) as New Jersey. And you have two Democrat Senators there, too -- just like us.

True words, and bless you for speaking them. The Lord is still Sovereign over our hearts and lives. He kept us through 8 years of that modern day Pharaoh, Obama, and He will keep us until His return. God bless you!

Republicans don’t know how to sell freedom.

The dirty little secret is that most Americans don't WANT freedom ... because that freedom includes the freedom to fail.

Where is the wall? I honestly think this issue alone cost a lot of votes this time around.

I don't have the same criticism of Ryan. If anything, the GOP in Congress has been the victims of their own success over the last 25 years. It's impossible to manage an agenda in the House of Representatives when your constituents include both: (1) suburban "soccer moms" in the NYC and D.C. metro areas who love a nanny-state government, and (2) libertarian gun owners in rural Kentucky who think even the U.S. Postal Service is too much government.

Go find me three issues where both of these cohorts of voters will have any agreement at all.

Get ready and work on WHAT? Lower unemployment? Jobs? Better trade deals? Strong foreign policy? Border walls??? Ending birthright citizenship? Conservative judges? TRIED THAT. LOST ANYWAY.

You are correct. Trump did all those great things and what do the voters do?

The Democrats, right out in the open acted like crazy, lying socialists and they get rewarded by winning the House.

Florida and Arizona were won by the narrowest of margins.

Even Texas was a narrow margin.

And the people of Iowa go back to voting for crazy, lying socialists.

That's all pretty bad.

Who gives a shit about NJ? F that. We need to consolidate REAL America and write of paces like NJ, a failed mafia state.

Have you checked out your own state of Virginia lately?

Where are you going to consolidate Real America?

Both the Republican Party and Free Republic need to retrench and ditch moderates, globalist and RINO squishes i.e. Democrat lite. You know guys like you. So F off loser. Enjoy NJ - the armpit of the USA.

If moderate squishes are thinking this is an opportunity to slow down MAGA, then they need to THINK AGAIN.

Republicans don’t know how to sell freedom.

Indeed. The GOP has no one in the leadership who can articulate any benefit to free enterprise, the rule of law, sanctity of contracts, security of borders, or any of the principles enunciated in the Declaration, or the Constitution. They are not familiar with them, they do not believe them, they do not understand them. To the GOP leadership it is a foreign language. We cannot expect them [and most of us don't] to be able to argue a case in a language they cannot speak.

Unlike most Freepers, I don't hold the GOP accountable for any "failure" on health care.

There wasn't much the GOP could do anyway except fiddle around the edges with Obamacare. It takes 60 votes in the Senate to completely overhaul it. Half the population wants Obamacare around as their financial backup plan and safety valve for preexisting conditions. Half the population has at least one chronic condition.

Something else to remember is that ObamaCare basically screws younger people for the benefit of older people ... and older people are the core of the GOP voter base.

There's no way in hell the GOP would disrupt that kind of arrangement.
