Men kissing BMW commercial
10/28/18 | vanity

Watching the World Series, as is my wont. BMW has a commercial pushing senses beyond the normal five...In a rapid-fire montage of random couples kissing, you can catch a split-second shot of two men kissing. I rewound and replayed it several times. Definite homosexuality. Sheesh, not during baseball....

If they want to market to the 2% of society and repulse the other 98% they should just go for it and show gays going at it in a BMW.

A BMW commercial? Sure it was not an Apple commercial?

But then, BMW has been the icon of choice for urban metrosexuals for a long time. so it may have been what you saw.

“I have never seen anyone pass on the right there.”

I hear people mention this. I assume that means on the shoulder, because I don’t get what’s wrong with going into the lane to the right to pass if the car in front of me is going too slow.

You got the BMW driving style down as I recall it in SoCal. While the MB types just steam imperiously along, drifting from lane to lane acting like they expect the peasants to yield to their superiors.

I used to have such fun messing with their heads back there. Drivers of both type cars in Hawaii tend to be Japanese and without the mainland attitude about their precious toys.

Look out though for tourists that feel the need to rent a Suburban or Sclade.

The Geico commercial featuring the guy with hypnotic powers is as gay as it gets.

Hypnotic powers and you use it to get a yard full of men doing chores?

I must admit, I kissed the roof of my brand new Corvette Stingray when they loaded it off the Truck.

I only did it once though, I was just experimenting.

Well, no TV watching these days, unless the wife runs out of chick stuff to watch. Then I pop in an old Magnum PI or Miami Vice DVD, so never get to see current commercials.

Weird thing during the day, when at the gym and notice the TVs by the exercise steppers and all, the commercials seem to always be about some pill. Never seem to say what the pill is for.

But when you buy a BMW you get that certificate that says, “Yes, I do own the whole damn road.”

One of the L.A. BMW stunts I used to love messing up was them trying to get past a long line of cars at a stoplight by sneaking up the right turn lane, that zipping ahead of everyone at the green. Almost ran a few into parked cars on the other side of the intersection trying that stunt. Guys behind me saw it too and stayed up tight behind to refuse to let them over.

“ I don’t get what’s wrong with going into the right lane to pass if the car in front of me is going too slow.”

1) California Vehicle Code prohibits passing on the right
2) the far right lane is for merging, The next lane to the left is for truckers and four wheelers to merge either way.
3) if you are traveling in any lane except the right and you have an emergency, you will need to get to the right immediately. Theoretically, while moving to the right, you are dealing with an emergency situation already and shouldn’t have to worry about getting plowed by another vehicle.

Lane discipline is difficult. I find myself passing texters to the right if they are holding up traffic and my horn doesn’t get them to move over and the left is unavailable. The horn actually gets some of them to make room.

“21755. (a) The driver of a vehicle may overtake and pass another vehicle upon the right only under conditions permitting that movement in safety. In no event shall that movement be made by driving off the paved or main-traveled portion of the roadway.”

From the California vehicle code.

So I ask again, what’s wrong with passing to the right? It is impossible to drive on the freeway in Southern California without doing so.

My mother’s MB lasted her exactly 50 years, no rebuild. She just sold it since her health has declined.

I have a BMW motorcycle. One of the big adventure bikes.

There is not a gay part in that machine.

They’re taking over every medium.

At my University, the "Radio-and-TV" majors had taken over a floor at my dorm—for their "proclivities". This was in 1962.
