Ive been using gmail for about four or five years now. I realize Microsoft is not perfect, but has anyone here looked at the pluses and minuses of Outlook compared to Gmail?
Yeah, I know theres a TON of other free options, but if Outlook is good enough, without spying, political backstabbing against Trump in the way that Google has been doing it, I would switch.
I have Outlook and it’s wonderful. Much better than gmail, IMO.
Doesn’t your ISP offer an email account?

Yeah. Xfinity. I cant figure out if their system has the tools and apps that would be better than Outlook.
Outlook is just a program. Gmail is actual email.
In any case I wouldn’t use either one of them. Get an email account somewhere and then use Thunderbird.
I won’t use anything by google if I have a viable alternative. I’ve been using Hotmail.com (one of the MS sites) for 20 years now. No problems.
I really need to look into a comparison of those two options. Thanks, Ill be doing that ASAP.

I use several mail providers and as far as I know Outlook does not sift through your mail as GMail does. On the professional side of things we use Outlook exclusively, I will be moving off gmail accts as time goes forward but I do not use them for anything related to business as they are Pirates
Outlook also offers cloud storage like G Drive but again it is private and scalable as well
I do have a gmail account but only because my phone insisted on it. I can still read my ms email via browser on phone, tablet or pc.
You’re talking two completely different things. Gmail is an account, Outlook is an e-mail program, it’s one option to look at e-mail. It’s like saying that you’re dumping FreeRepublic for Mozilla Firefox. That makes no sense.
I have outlook and use MSN as my home page. I’m very satisfied. I don’t want anything to do with Google.
I also believe in God the Father, Jesus His Only Unique Son, the Holy Spirit, the Virgin Birth of Christ, the resurrection of the dead, substitutionary atonement, and the complete and instant salvation and forgiveness of sins upon trusting in Christ as payment for sin.
Yes, I am a fool for everything I believe.

I’d look into proton mail. They offer encryption to anyone provided you share a pre agreed key with the recipient or they have a proton account as well.
I use the the free version of Mail.com and it’s horrible. :[
