Several aspects of the face-off between the Democratic nominee for governor of Florida, Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum and, as of Monday, former Republican Rep. Ron DeSantis are likely to be bellwethers signaling America’s political future.
Furthermore, look for the contest to feature passion and fireworks that will explode during the battle to lead the nation’s third most populous state. This epic race will be light-years beyond any normal, nasty, expensive gubernatorial election campaign because “liberal” Gillum and “conservative” DeSantis are stand-ins representing all that divides our nation.
Here is what the Florida gubernatorial race is really about:
1. The ballot box testing of left-leaning policies in a major state
Chief among the policies advocated by Gillum is "Medicare for all" (one step short of single-payer health care) with a corresponding increase in Florida’s corporate tax rate from 5.5 percent to 7.75 percent to foot the bill. Gillum also favors raising the minimum wage to $15 and abolishing ICE.

I suspect the ballot box test will fail.
Not so in about a decade though, when enough of us pass on to that Great Tea Party in the Sky and Millenials rule the ballot box.
Unfortunately there a few small areas of FLoriDUH that are Californicated.
Gillum is as anti gun rights, anti self defense rights as they come.
Florida has it’s share of liberals, I hope they aren’t the majority. Lots of New Yorkers down there.
There is a lot of Media Hype about this race, but in the end the Republican will win by 20+ points. Bet on it!

The State of California is rich. They can provide medicare for all the States. Better than a bullet train.
In New York when asked about Medicare For All, Cynthia Nixon said the other day, quote,
“We’re a rich country. We’ll figure it out.”
Sadly I expect that line will actually resonate with a lot of low-info voters.

I think DeSantis will have a tough time winning, but when the opponent won his primary, I thought DeSantis was going to be a shoo-in. There are millions of liberals in FL; so the outcome may be in doubt.
MEDICARE FOR ALL
DEMOCRATS want to turn Medicare into welfare.
But welfare Medical already exists.
It is incremental Communism.
To a prog/commie there can never be enough welfare programs...even if they are redundant and full of waste, fraud and abuse.
