POTUS, Trump graciously approved the total use of the military, the military support equipment, for a military, public funeral ceremony including aircraft movements of McCains body, the military band, the honor guards, etc. with zero cost to the McCain family.
The various ceremonies in Arizona, Washington & Maryland were filled with pomp and circumstance from A-Z!!! The school children in Phoenix , Arizona were released from classes and required to line up on street curbs to honor the passing the McCain motorcade. The Federal government workers in Washington were also released to pay tribute to the McCain body lying in the Rotunda of the USA Capital building.
Meghan McCain, Arizona, Senator Jeff Flake, ex-POTUS, GW Bush & Ex-POTUS, Barack Hussein Obama all spoke openly ill of our current, POTUS, Donald J. Trump!!!
What was missing from the very outset of this "McCain Love Fest" hosted by the Media, The Deep Swamp Critters, Republican & Democrats Establishment was a lack of both interest and turnout of the average Jane & John American people. Very few people lined the streets, roads, highways and freeways of Arizona & Washington, DC to mourn, honor and respect John McCain as they did for JFK & Ronald Reagan. You may hear otherwise....but just look at the tube tapes of the McCain motorcade as it progressed along its route...kid forced out of school and federal workers given off the day of work to make public impact appear massive.
The McCain folks and their allies in the media believed the McCain passing on would be a major factor in taking down POTUS, Trump. No such luck, as last week Trump held a rally in Indiana where 15,000 people attended, more than witnessed the entire McCain Funeral escapade.
Trump goes on, unabated as the powerhouse he is and, truth be known, John McCain will be just about forgotten come Monday morning. Actually and factually, the Labor Day weekend out did the John McCain sideshow...big time!!!
It was no love fest. It was just as McCain would have wanted: bitter and lashing out at Trump for who knows what. Probably because his Syrian jihadists are no longer being armed and funded to kill Christians.
It may move it upward somewhat.
Trump controls the agenda so much they even obsess about him at funerals.
McCain was another one of those politicians whose supporters are even worse than he was.
Trump got points. Maybe not poll points but class points for sure. The petty bitter gang also exposed themselves as the small-minded louts they are.
Do they even do approval polls on holiday weekends?
McCain forgot chain of command. He may have hated Trump, but Donald Trump was his commander in chief. Donald Trump was the leader of his country and should’ve been supportive in every way. Instead, John McCain’s struck at him whenever the opportunity presented itself. This will forever be his legacy.
People who support Trump HATE McInsane, and that includes the feeble-minded Q-tip crowd in Arizona that voted for McInsane but not Trump.
Over 100,000 more Q-tips voted for McInsane but not for Trump in 2016.

You are absolutely correct. It did not hurt Trump when they made him the focus of John McCain’s state funeral. Instead it proved the point that Trump is squarely over the target.
It won’t be over for weeks.
Next, it goes to Russia for a week, then Vietnam, where he will be interred.
These, too, will be on world-wide television, around the clock.
John McCain is now at the eternal home of his choosing. His ability to influence the political landscape on Earth is over. Anyone who truly loved the man would be better served praying for his soul than making a political spectacle of themselves, after all our time here is short and is only meaningful in the extent that we demonstrate God’s love for us. May God Bless his soul and may his family turn to Christ.

If, as they say, mccain planned his own funeral, then it was an accurate portrayal of his years in office. Huge ego, petty nastiness.

Yes, that's the key point. Everybody talked about Trump. McCain was a hero in their eyes because he opposed Trump while the rest of their cowered in the corner.
