They're backkkkk! But, a lot of them are headed out to the playa starting today and they'll be gone for a week. Then we'll be visited by dusty patchoulli oil soaked folks for another probably two weeks post burning man. We already have the skunk weed smell wafting around. Oddly, the supposed anti establishment counter culture festival brings in hundreds of RVs from all over the place and mostly empties a lot of shelves at local wal marts. If I recall, the least expensive access pass was around $800. And that's if you were lucky enough to get in line early. Then at the culmination the participants "Burn THE Man". Yeah, capitalism sure does suck. Art festival. Well, there are some pretty clever pieces put together. As long as no one gets hurt........

Why not take McCain to “Burning Man”? It would be the perfect sendoff.

Went to Burning Man early on. It has changed a bit. When I went it was truly counter culture. No tickets, no narks, no rules. Now it seems to be just little more than a Good Sam Jamboree. You can do your own thing for a mere $190 to $1,200 per ticket and you follow all the rules. Bah!!

I had heard about Burning Man before, but never knew what it was... I looked into it a little this year because an old high school friend found me on Facebook. He added me to his group that built a 6 story tall tower with stained glass and a spiral staircase to the top of it with balconies at each level. It was pretty cool. He already had a double masted sailing ship built on an RV chassis from years before... known as the Monaco

From my research, it is intended as a big Art event with “Art Cars” I saw a video of them towing a 747 out there for it... It is really just a HUGE week long adult party where apparently clothing is optional...

I read another article where they are already plans to file suit against the BIA for “unconstitutional” traffic stops where they bring in the drug sniffing dogs and write them a ticket for crossing the center line or speeding by 3mph over the limit

BTW in years past I have been pulled over twice on two different Indian reservations for breaking the 25mph speed limit by 3 mph... The second I actually got lucky with just a warning because I showed him my Garmin that still had a 35 mph speed limit listed and told him I just saw that 25mph sign right there in front of us and I was already slowing down when he hit me with his radar... They are VERY strict on traffic laws, get behind a truck on the reservation and they wont budge off 20mph.
