William H. McRaven, a retired Navy admiral, was commander of the U.S. Joint Special Operations Command from 2011 to 2014. He oversaw the 2011 Navy SEAL raid in Pakistan that killed al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden.

Former CIA director John Brennan, whose security clearance you revoked on Wednesday, is one of the finest public servants I have ever known. Few Americans have done more to protect this country than John. He is a man of unparalleled integrity, whose honesty and character have never been in question, except by those who don

now you know contractors are ‘different’. Gov folks are ‘special’ privileged in all aspects. And leftist politicians and their families, prior included, are ‘Royalty’.

I have left employers before and had no expectation that I would continue to be able to log into their system and poke around in their information. Why would anyone who does not work for the government any longer expect to have access to classified information from this day forward? Same with ex-presidents. Doesn’t Odumbo still have a high level clearance? That should end when the new prez is sworn in.

Signal the “community”, and not get rolled up himself in all this examination. He could very well be a key figure in domestic misuse of our military— “sheep-dipped” as they say for “domestic terror” operations. Controlling one’s imagination... it is possible. Cause it’s happened many times in the very STATIST UK, whom guys like this think we should emulate. The police state of politically correct that the UK has become (Official Secrets Act... a joke).

And his request was published in the WaPo for all to see.

Imagine that.

The president should promptly and publicly comply with his wishes.

There are several “liberal dominated” security corporations (not talking about rent a cops or civilian shooters for base protection- talking about foreign policy type security contractors). Names don’t leap to mind, but one can find them staffed ENTIRELY by liberal leftist democrats on their various sections and all of their BOD. And they are friends with their counterpart pals in Congress, who feed them info as needed and vice versa. Get rid of their clearances and many others... and these Beltway Bandits dissappear. But not without very loud whining their gravy train is gone.

Let’s all remember that having a clearance is NOT the same as having access to classified information. Need to Know still applies.

Trump should give this guyt exactly what he asked for, as well as the countless others whose only reason for still having a security clearance is to make money.

So when a person who no longer is actively involved in a government position that requires a security clearance retains that security clearance, it only has value IF they continue to get information that requires that clearance.

Given all that, how is the information delivered? Personal courier? Or an email to a server in John Brennan's closet?

When a person leaves a position that requires a security clearance, the CLEARANCE remains intact for 2 years. This is different from ACCESS which is removed immediately. After two years, the CLEARANCE expires and must be reinstated with a new background investigation.

There are three types of statuses for a security clearance.

Active – Present job requires use of a security clearance.
Current – Had a job in the past two years that required use of a clearance.
Expired – More than two years since that person had a job that required a clearance.

Admiral McRaven retired from the navy on August 28, 2014, after more than 37 years of service.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_H._McRaven

Seems like that was more than 2 years ago.

maybe we should be looking at his other perks that he is receiving.

If he is still entitled to were his uniform than POTUS is still his commander in Chief.

Probably was a shitty officer also.

Security clearances are issued on a need to know basis. That is, the person given the clearance has an official need to access classified information. The concept of need to know goes further. Just because someone has a SECRET or TOP SECRET clearance doesn’t mean they are not automatically given access to any and all information classified SECRET or TOP SECRET. No, they are only given access to classified information regarding specific missions, plans, projects, or programs they are actively involved in and even then only to the extent required for their specific duties within those missions, plans, projects, or programs.

So, one has to ask, in what official capacity did John Brennan have a need to know classified information and as part of what project or mission? Is he still working for the intelligence community in any official capacity? Is he working for a government contractor on a classified project? Does the government use him as on a consulting basis for any classified mission, project, or plans?

The answer to those questions is a simple NO! Therefore, he has no official need to know any classified information, not even information classified CONFIDENTIAL, not even information that is UNCLASSIFIED but FOR OFFICIAL USE ONLY (FOUO).

Brennan is retired and removed from the active intelligence community. In his job as a CNN commentator and pundit he may have a want to know, a would like to know, and even a wouldn’t it be fun to know. But, he has no official need to know and, thus, he has no need for any sort of security clearance.

When Brennan left government service he should have, and would have, been “Read Off” of any programs he was previously “Read On” to. He is no longer working with or for the government in any capacity. So, what the heck was he doing with a security clearance anyway?

Why would Brennan need a security clearance to do his CNN news pundit job? Was he accessing classified information for CNN? Was he using classified information when he opined as a pundit? Was he sharing classified information with the CNN for their “journalistic research”? And, is CNN upset because their source of classified information has dried up? Were Brennan and CNN compromising national security? Was Brennan misusing government access? If so, those would be criminal actions and in clear violation of the national security statutes.

Are there more national security threats like John Brennan, i.e. retired persons with clearances but without any current need to know? If so, they too should have their security clearances revoked -— IMMEDIATELY!

With the riffraff in military uniform, we can know without doubt, God has protected US from the ‘social justice’ warriors. Liberalism is a death knell to the survival of these United States.
