Kidders daughter, Maggie McGuane, told the AP Its a very unique sort of grief and pain. Knowing how many families in this state go through this, I wish that I could reach out to each one of them.
Kidder is best remembered for playing Lois Lane opposite Christopher Reeve in the Superman films. The Canadian-born actress had long been open about drug and alcohol addictions, which she said partially triggered her very public breakdown in 1996. The screen icon was equally open about her bipolar diagnosis.
When speaking about her lifelong struggle with mental illness, she told the Los Angeles Times, I knew I was different, had these mind flights that other people didnt seem to have. And I had deep depressions.

No surprise....she’s been out of it for a very long time. Another Hollywood druggie.
“No surprise....shes been out of it for a very long time. Another Hollywood druggie.”
There are towns in West Virginia, Ohio, Michigan, and Kentucky where overdose rates are far higher than in Hollywood.
I knew a girl who suffered from Bi-Polar disorder. In many ways she was an extraordinary person. Beautiful, Prom Queen, all those things. Really sweet nature.
But just out of the blue, she would become a totally different person. She finally got married, had a little girl and I hope she has overcome her demons.
It sounds like Lois Lane never did.
Guess it took a while to come to that conclusion? Any marches planned for combatting drug abuse?
Because druggies tend to congregate in the areas where they can get drugs.
She had mental illness
And self medicated
A bit different from just another druggie
You could see it in her scared face
“Because druggies tend to congregate in the areas where they can get drugs.”
You can get drugs anywhere.
Or more precisely, people do not do druggs because drugs are available, drugs are available because people do drugs.
Demand drives markets.
Drugs seem to be an equal opportunity destroyer. It destroys those who have achieved everything they ever dreamed of and discovered it was not enough to make them happy. It also destroys those who have lost so much and feel there is no other way out.
This country desperately needs God.
Depression is a shitty thing.
I always liked her work. I know virtually nothing of the woman except she was mentally ill for a long, long, time.
I remembered she was an alcoholic, but forgot she was bipolar.
Saw her once on Johnny Carson. Thought there was something just a bit off from the norm.
Sigh
Her Hollywood enablers and users will now pay her tribute.
Ms. Kidder was one of the first people to go public about the hillary scam to rob local state dem campaign donations and have the $$$ diverted into her own accounts.
Interesting that she received yet another “suicide”..
Not buying it.....she’s been in one rehab after another. It’s just popular now to blame doctors, mental illness and the like. Plenty of qualified mental health services available to her her entire lifetime.....she made her decision to do things her way.

My 2nd favorite James Garner series.
I am not trying to be disrespectful, but one does not “overcome” those demons. Brain Chemistry is one of those things that is tolerated, or you can medically change it.
I know, first hand, that real depression (not just the blues) can be debilitating. And honestly, even your loved ones tire of it. They still love you...but its tough.
The longer I live, the more I understand how some people are just done with it all. I know its a sin. I have never been that down. But I understand how it happens.
If you have never been around it or experienced it, you are incredibly lucky.
I remember finally hitting on the right meds...and walking around with my wife one day and asking, “Is this how it is for everyone else? Every day?”
I have nothing but compassion for her and her family.
Lois Lane is dead?
