My godson moved his contracting business from back east to Central California and got his General Contracting License in California. In mid April he applied for a business license and paid the fees from the City of Stockton, CA. Today, the OFFICIAL business license suitable for framing and hanging on his office wall arrived in the mail. Here it is:
Notice what his business license category is. . . He's licensed to do:
Ya know, them thar generak coons can be downright mean! But, Is heard theys mighty good eatin bettern than road kill.
I wonder, if'n once hes a tracted 'em down, ifn he kin shoot em coons? Or do he need a differ'n license to do that?
What do you expect from “STATE WORKERS”
Don’t forgit to vote tommorrow we need more of ‘em
Good that he’s licensed by his betters. His spelling must be awful. ;<)
Does this make him eligible for the monthly $500 from Mayor Tubbs?
That’s REALLY racist.
He needs a huntin’ license to hunt varmints.
There we go! Damn good back up, up here in the mountains. Even the Bears leave it alone!
The more money you give government, the worse its gets.
Its a paradox, but the times have given it proof.
My brother-in-law was shot and killed during a robbery in Stockton.
You missed the point. That's not HIS spelling. Notice the name of his business he licensed: WCW General Conracting. He spelled it correctly on his license. He has an MBA. It was the idjits in the City Business Licensing Bureau who don't know how to spell "General Contracting".
No I didn’t miss it. My lame attempt at a joke about his supposed “betters”.
Up`n here in the mountains we`uns done got no generak coontractors coz them varmits done clumb right up on the roof and was stayed there all night inspectin` that thar roof. But they is good watchcoons coz them bears is stayed away and then went to the hospital lookin` for a meal like they did last year coz a moose was down the street by the river fishin`.
*facepalm* As a Californian, I wish I could say that was an unusual mistake...
Another Affirmative Action hire hard(ly) at work.
If it makes you feel any better, we received an $11,000 fine on Friday from the great State of California for filing a financial report 15 days after the due date. Between our three business arms we had to complete 148 pages of forms to comply.
The first notice we received was sent via Certified Mail on March 19 stating the due date was March 15. We started making phone calls today to sort out the matter and it turns out the lackey at the government department had emailed a notice in January and one in February but it he had misspelled our business.com name and we never received the emails.
So, it should be an easy fix, right? Nope. Even though they made the mistake we still have to request a hearing to get the fine removed.
As a result, we decided today to immediately cease all operations with our two newest arms in CA and redirect their growth to other states, probably including TX, where we already have a small presence. We gross several million/yr. in CA and figure that also leads to $20 million/yr. in direct revenues for small business owners who reside in CA and put that money back into the local economy there. Yeah, we’re pikers in the CA economy, but our business thrives on a hundreds of smallish transactions, the CA economy is the whole of millions of small transactions.
We should be able to withdraw the biggest arm in 39 months without affecting our business. It’s been a long time coming and complying with the CA regulations in the last 5 years has become almost impossible to keep straight. We frequently receive 2 or even 3 notices to pay compliance fees we have paid previously and have to provide proof of payment to the agencies who send the notices. It’s ridiculous now and we know it’s only going to get worse, hence the decision to leave.
We do not live or have a physical location in CA.
And your grammar is as bad as theirs, so don’t you judge!
