A Milwaukee woman was found dead in her near west side home after being mauled to death by at least one of her pet dogs, according to the Milwaukee County medical examiner's office.
Hong Saengsamly, 49, was found by her son about 10 p.m. Saturday in the kitchen of her home in the 500 block of N. 28th St., according to a medical examiner's report.
Saengsamly suffered multiple puncture and blunt force injuries on her arms and shoulders and her death was due to "mauling by dogs," according to the report.
A pit bull-type dog that appeared to be guarding her body became hostile with the son before he fatally shot the animal, according to

This story is an hour old; Hong (the victim) is now the 6th dog attack death of 2018 in the US.
One of them was a wolf hybrid.
As this article indicates that the death was caused by her own “pit-bull-type” dogs, it is the 5th death caused by pit-bull-type dogs 85 days, for a rate of one death by pit-bull-type dog every 17 days.

This behavior is not unknown. A woman was killed by her two pit bull type dogs in the woods in December. Bethany Stephens of Virginia. Her dogs were eating her when she was found.
I only read the headline, so before I read the rest of the article, let me guess the breed: Golden retriever.

The vast majority of pit bulls are sweet and well-behaved dogs.
Its the rogue dogs that have given the breed its bad reputation. There is no reason for a dog to turn on its owner.

Golden Retrievers are bred to have a very soft mouth and to bring you back a dead (or alive and struggling) bird that you have shot, without making a mess of it.

(they have also been known to go and get a bird you have NOT shot, and bring it to you. Alive. Off-season. They then are quite indignant when told “can’t keep this one, sorry”.)

Pit bull prolly ate it.
I have known exactly two pit bulls in my life...up close and personal. They were as tail wagging, happy-to-see-you friendly as any dog I have known. I simply can’t see them eating their owners.
