Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin warned that if Senator Barack Obama were elected president, his indecision and moral equivalence may encourage Russias Vladimir Putin to invade Ukraine.
Palin said then:
After the Russian Army invaded the nation of Georgia, Senator Obamas reaction was one of indecision and moral equivalence, the kind of response that would only encourage Russias Putin to invade Ukraine next.
For those comments, she was mocked by the high-brow Foreign Policy magazine and its editor Blake Hounshell, who now is one of the editors of Politico magazine.
Hounshell wrote then that Palins comments were strange and this is an extremely far-fetched scenario.
And given how Russia has been able to unsettle Ukraines pro-Western government without firing a shot, I dont see why violence would be necessary to bring Kiev to heel, Hounshell dismissively wrote.

All Obama wanted was a tin-foil crown without making waves. Why should he lift a finger? Slacker.
Obama had no problem telling Russia he would be “More flexible” with them after the 2012 election..the Commie media never did ask him what he meant by that
Trump as president almost immediately bombed the Russian allies in Syria, reports recently are we even blew up Russian tanks. Quite a contrast. Gee which one do you think Putin was happier with?
Also checked to make sure that cowardly former Georgian leader, who started the war in S. Ossetia that prompted Russian intervention, is still a wanted man in his former country...he is.
Current score: Nationalists 2 - Globalists 0
Palin would have been an excellent president, except I don’t think she had anywhere near the strength (financial and personal) to stand up to the entire political class in America.
Republicans and Democrats. Both.
Trump is stronger. Much. He is the guy we needed.
Sarah ping
I believe the GOP-e made that plain to her in the latter part of September 2012.
Up until then, she was the natural candidate to run against President Obama. Heck, she was the main voice of opposition for over 3 years. Then, at the last minute, she dropped out.
Of course, with the benefit of hindsight, it was probably for the best. I don’t believe her family could have endured the garbage that would have been thrown their way.
The Professional Politicians have just about succeeded in driving any decent folks out of public service.

“You know what the Ukraine is? It’s a sitting duck. A road apple, Newman. The Ukraine is weak. It’s feeble. I think it’s time to put the hurt on the Ukraine.”
Ping to Sarah's List.
The Russians took back Crimea under the past administration. Something they have wanted despertly for 25 years.
Shoot!
She’s been right more times than not and yet she still gets grief from the press.
I really wish she were in the Trump administration. Maybe she could get their mess straightened out!
I agree with you on all counts. Mrs. Palin would have made an excellent President in an ideal world. However, given the nature of the Deep State swamp, and the American hating media - she would have been murdered (figuratively speaking, but perhaps even literally).
President Trump is the right man for the right time (and Americas last hope). A billionaire with a honey bear attitude.
Honey badger.
News flash: Democratic Party gaslighting notwithstanding, Putin STILL has not invaded Ukraine.
I saw that too, but it was a very disingenuous headline. We blew up a "Russian tank", as in a tank that was manufactured in Russia and had been in service in the Iraqi army.
He tried. But Ukrainians wouldn’t have it.
Putin’s forces do remain in the east though: Donetsk/Donbass. Thousands killed. I know someone here in US on asylum from the conflict...Many of the people there are ethnic Russians or mixed part Ukrainians...
Not a happy place to be for all affected.
Obviously classy Trump’s intention has always been BETTER relations with Russia. Unfortunately, unclassy Putin is still living in Soviet time warp.
Until Russia gets mature adults in leadership, relations will remain tense.
It’s impossible to intelligently discuss the situation without first acknowledging that present-day affairs there are the direct and proximate result of the Hillary Clinton-John McCain directed coup of its previous, legitimate government, and subsequent installation of a globalist kleptocracy.
The Euromaidan had all sorts of messy elements, but I wrote the following in another thread:
As someone who is acquainted with both Ukrainian and Russian Orthodox members, including expats in US:
However moral a right Russia had in annexing Crimea - the spirit in which it was done was so vicious and dark: so that that move plus incursion into Donbass has turned a whole generation of Ukrainians against Russia. Including Ukrainians who were naturally inclined to Russias orbit over Europes.
Poroshenko is awful, but to many Ukrainians - the thought of eternal Soviet-time warp under Russia would be worse. So: its rough, but theyre in it for the long haul in terms of commitment to independence.
