Has anyone noticed something a bit odd about the actresses accusing Harvey Weinstein?
The trash talk TV floodgates have burst wide open with women who now accuse Harvey Weinstein of sexual harassment. But has anyone noticed something very odd about this group. With a few rare (and aging… or aged… or very aged) A-listers, the accusers are all women who never succeeded in Hollywierd.
We are hearing nothing from the major movie actresses, and I think the reason is obvious. These women, now household names, did what aspiring actresses (and actors) have done for 90 years. When they were fighting for roles early in their careers, and all the others up for the roles were willing to go down for anyone in the casting system, they did the Horizontal Mambo too.
And of course, once they were into the system, they couldn’t suddenly become reconstituted virgins and stop “laying down on the job.”
The reason they are not complaining now? They are still active and don’t want to be thought of as simply very high paid, very beautiful, and somewhat talented women (and men) who sold their bodies for dollars and fame.
Or if they are War Criminal Jane Fonda, who claims she just learned about Weinstein a year ago, they also don’t want the world to know these “Women’s Rights Champions” were willing to stay silent, not tell the world what they did to get their movie roles, and sacrificed the next generations of their sisterhood for their own fame and fortune,

I have thought all during this year that the mods have disappeared or they simply don’t care. The owners have a problem on their hands - just as they did with the anti-Catholics a few years ago. And, I agree that we don’t have to be puritans here to expect some standards. Also, the vanities are out of control which lead to a lot of problems as well.

a bit off topic, but I recall that Letterman had been involved with a few staffers.
He admitted it one night on air, and the audience applauded when he said he had sexual relationships with his staff.
I know he drew a liberal audience, but still was shocking that they cheered for him having sex with people on his staff. They actually thought it was fine that he was sexually involved with staff, that it was a positive thing, worthy of applause???
If the term “hooker” upsets you, what term would you prefer for women (and men) who CONTINUED TO make a conscious choice to exchange sexual favors for the money and fame that comes with being a movie actress/actor?
The first time they did it, they were victims, perhaps the 2d and 3d time too. But at what point do these men and women willing continue as participants in a system that can only entrap the next group of young people?

I disagree, if suddenly all actors and performing artists of many kinds disappeared, I would miss the music, artistry and entertainment. I don’t want a world filled just with plumbers, accountants, and engineers (and I am an engineer).

The dozens of very successful actresses and actors who stayed silent and kept the conspiracy alive are a very much a part of the problem too.
I did notice a similarity between weinstein and weiner. The first four letters of their names are the same.
