Prosecutors said Adams got into an argument with his girlfriend at their home on Aug. 23, 2014.

Adams’ brother and an acquaintance, Charles Emmanuel Briggs, 27, tried to stop the fight when the defendant began fighting with Briggs outside of the home.

“Adams then armed himself with what was described as a compound bow and razor-tipped broadhead hunting arrow”

Can’t argue with his choice of gear!

Adams followed the victim down the street “for a considerable distance” before shooting Briggs with the arrow.

Witnesses said Briggs stumbled from the home, leaving a trail of blood, before collapsing with the arrow still in his chest.

Those two statements seem a bit contradictory. Just sayin'

I suspect the DA is playing fast and loose with the word “considerable.”

Considerably fast and loose if the blood trail begins “from the home.” heh

I don’t think the discrepancy is going to help the accused’s defense much though.

Geez, nasty weapon.

If I was a felon and could not own firearms, I would have a black powder revolver and a crossbow for home protection.

Those cap and ball revolvers are considered “firearm accessories”, not firearms themselves, so felons are legally allowed to own them. I wonder why more don’t so they aren’t caught with a gun and go back to prison.

But then, I am not as stupid as your average felon. That is one reason I’m not a felon.

In some states felons cannot even have a black power firearm OR a bow and arrow.
