The other day, I was watching a program about the Church of Scientology. The program was not particularly flattering to Scientology. In fact, the documentary was downright disparaging. The conclusion of the documentary, although the producers did not come out and actually say it, was that Scientology was nothing more than a flashy, well-funded cult. That got me thinking about religion in general. You see, all of the worlds major religions have one thing in common. That commonality is the fact that there is a greater being outside of yourself and humanity. Some call that factor God, The Great Spirit, Gaia etc.
Cults have one thing in common. Their commonality is that the leader, or leaders of the order, believe themselves to be the great being that has come to live in human form. Indeed, they often call themselves God. For the most part, religions have an uplifting message. Even if you dont agree with that message, it is still there. Cults would have you believe that there is nothing positive to look forward to outside of the cult leader.
This is where politics comes in. You see, Liberalism is nothing more than a cult. It is probably not the worlds largest cult, but it is a cult nonetheless. Liberalism doesnt believe in a greater being outside of itself. Often Liberals are atheists or agnostic, and thus, they only believe in themselves and those who lead the cult. Liberals believe that there is no hope outside of the cult, or government that the cult has to be grown to ever bigger levels in order to achieve the utopia that is, in reality, impossible to achieve.

Liberalism is one of the many religions for empty God-less people.
A traitorous cult.
groupthink on steroids
If you do not believe it criticize them and watch the persecution that comes your way.
Exactly.
I don’t know but the Democrat Party is a tribe.
There are two roads you can follow: the broad one that leads to destruction, or the narrow one leading to salvation. The broad one is popular, promising a worldly utopia if everyone just falls in line and denounces those fools on the narrow path. It satisfies the animal side of humans, saying there is no right and wrong, just what feels good and what doesn’t—so just do what feels good, nothing else matters. If anyone disagrees, call them a bigot, a racist, or a fascist. The worse you can make them look, the better you’ll look. And appearances are all that matter anyway.
I like to think of it as the “Cult of the Utopian Collective”.
Think “Borg”.
More than just scorned. They must lose their jobs or be imprisoned for not catering to the party line.
I remember reading accounts of conservatives in Washington when it first became fashionable for liberals to abandon civility at gatherings, parties etc. and to publicly abuse conservatives. No longer were greetings and civilities exchanged and instead, the liberal socialite would claim the high ground by making a show of walking away when addressed by a conservative. I remember thinking it would make politics so much harsher if one displayed one’s opinion of others’ values and ideas so aggressively.
I didn’t know it was intentional, coordinated by the media and others. The sudden resort to public abuse was liberals opening the “culture war”; they couldn’t win in the marketplace of ideas so they decided to work together with media and government to shut opposing views out of the marketplace entirely. The way to do that? Alinsky tactics - behave as if conservatives are spouting shameful ideas and hateful bigotry whenever they speak. In some sense, it worked. Conservatives hide or tone down their thoughts.
In a MAJOR sense their tactics failed - we weren’t shouting them down at Starbucks, it was nice and quiet going to the polls, and at the polls we said whatever we wanted to say. They lost and it shocked them to the core because they had NO IDEA just how many people didn’t agree with them. Score for our side.
Just read an article on FR today wherein Kat Von D (Makeup artist/company) stripped a contest winner of their award strictly because they supported Trump on Facebook.

The “artist” made it personal, stressing it was her personal opinion and values behind the move to strip the contestant of the prize. They haven’t given up on silencing us - it’s just not going very well for them.
And just as destructive and personally degrading as scientology (I watched the Netflix film “My Scientology Movie” yesterday)...
Very well thought out. Thank you.
A lot of conservatives belong to the same cult that the liberals are part of . . . they just don’t know it yet - but when the Lord returns for His church one day they will find themselves suddenly in lockstep with the politics they say they are against - they will no longer have any free will to speak truth against error but will embrace it.
Possibly...
But it is CERTAINLY a mental disorder.
I’m actually surprised that will all the money our various spook agencies have burned through over the years, that there isn’t some CIA white paper sitting in some warehouse like the Arc of the Covenant that clearly identifies the left as possessing all the hallmark qualities of a dangerous cult.
Today’s Liberals/Progressives are Post-modern Neo-Marxist Nihilists.
And they have commanded the stage.
Among other nasty things, it is a Useful Idiot-Group Think cult.
I like your tagline.
Well, the left aligns with Islam and it’s a cult, so yes; I think we can safely say liberalism/leftism is a cult.
It’s not really a cult. But it gathers large groups of people together by making them think that inside
The group is righteousness and outside is evil. Liberalism
Has no tenets that make
Sense. Their beliefs sway in the breeze and change often.
What liberalism really is today is a naïveté, a gullibility without peer. And because they are so rootless, they have been fully mesmerized by the actual socialist Left. The left always finds liberals useful and eventually expendable.
